For Foxtel the first half hour of 360 is the only decent thing around.

Everything else is trash.

The only thing I watch on FTA is Border Security Sunday nights haha

Also you can get the NRL app for $20-$30 dollars.

I went with an NRL Live Pass through Telstra. And I don't even have a Telstra plan with my mobile. Only downside is that I won't be able to watch it on TV.

Telstra gives NRL Live Pass streaming (plus AFL, soccer, netball) for free for all post-paid mobile customers, and all pre-paid mobile customers (who have $30 credit or more).

For anyone who is not with Telstra - you can buy a minimum $30 pre-paid Telstra SIM and activate it on a Long Expiry (6 months) Plan. After the $30 SIM is activated, put it into your phone, turn off wifi, open the NRL app, sign up for the Live Pass through the app, take SIM out and put your main SIM back in and your good to go. The $30 activation credit lasts for 6 months. The Live Pass subscription will last until the end of the season regardless of whether you continue to use the Telstra SIM or how much credit you have left on it.

And a I managed to pick up a $30 SIM a few weeks ago when they were on sale at Telstra shops for only $8 which is a bargain. Also from time to time they are on sale at Coles and Woolies too.

I wont line channel 9’s pockets by watching them after the way they have treated the public over the years. Watching a FTA encourages advertising which lines their pockets. Im sorry I cant forget issues such as 80 minute games shown over sixty minutes minus ads. Id rather pay Foxtel thank you

9now does not have the ads nor their Youtube Channel

I refuse to line Fox's pockets and don't 'pay' TV. Always enjoy the weekly 100% Footy as it really is 100% about the footy. Interesting to hear Gallen talking from a player's point of view and Gus in all seriousness. Imho....

Ive been using Kayo (owned by Foxtel) the last few months @ $25/month you can use same account on two devices simultaneously so works out pretty cheap if sharing with a friend/relative.
Its a streaming service so need a decent internet connection/plan, might be a little frustrating for the old timers but works ok for my needs.
You can stream on the TV also using Chromecast/AppleTV.

Does it have a library of old games? ARL era

How long do they keep a game for to allow a replay?

I have Foxtel for the footy at almost 3 times the price of Kayo and have been thinking of switching

Waiting for an android TV to stream my life away 🙂

Same i watch it through the Telstra TV box. It's been good. If you find another 2 mates you could go 1/3 on the $35/mth for up to 3 devices.

Just had a quick glance and can see replays of the last 3 rounds. They have all the shows also - Fox Sports/ESPN/Bein Sports.
Cant see any old ARL games.
Its basically the Netflix of sports.
You can trial it free of charge for 14 days I think and good thing is you can cancel and rejoin at anytime - no lock in contracts.

My family has a news subscription for the Townsville Bulletin which allows you to access all news paper sites. For an extra five dollars a month no lock in you can watch all the Fox league shows a day after. I usually just stream them on the phone with headphones in. Don’t need to see ikon and Lents mug and yes after thirty minutes it’s just filler. Foxtel Now is also offering a month free which might be worth it come finals time. But if you have a relative or mate with fox sports their Go app allows five other devices to join. Can’t watch on the tv but still a decent option. I have a Telstra plan so watch the games on that. Have had fox until this year but all I ever did with that was record the game and watch when kids were in bed. I ended up fast forwarding through the whole thing.

Thanks for the info guys . I did not know that there were so many great NRL free to air options

I can tell you that the only FTA NRL television shows shown in Adelaide other than the Thursday, Friday and Sunday games is The Sunday Footy Show.

That is what sucks about living in an Aussie rules dominated town. There are just as many AFL shows on Seven and Nine and we get all of those, but the NRL is just the poor cousin as far as television coverage in South Australia is concerned. And TBH I don't think it would be much different even if the Adelaide Rams were still playing.

We don't even get the Thursday and Friday post game shows on Nine. As soon as the games on GEM finish, they stop the broadcast and we usually get a movie (though sometimes it might not be too bad depending on the movie. Lately we've been getting a fair bit of James Bond's).

Thankfully though, my internet (through iinet) is unlimited and I'm on the NBN so I can stream a lot of the shows as well as Saturday games.
