Hope they've got a customer friendly call centre, got a feeling there'll be some wheelin and a dealin on packages come mid 2025.

My 3.5 years of free kayo ( via electricity deal) has come to an end.
Can't see myself paying $35- -$45 a month for it.

I don’t think they will go up significantly. Foxtel has been slowly taken off the cable network. ( only satellite and internet now.) A lot of cost would have been tied up in maintenance of the cable network..
I usually turn it on for the footy season and off the rest of the year. They start throwing deals at you. For instance I just turned it on for a $1 a month deal for the cricket. Turned it off today and they offered me $20 off per month for 6 months. I have put that deal on hold for another month so that way I will get $15 a month for the footy season which is way more reasonable.
Would be good for them to offer single sport subscriptions. I only use it for the footy mostly and think $10 - $15 per month to only watch the NRL is much more on the right price.
I imagine there will be some better prices like this soon. I wish the NRL would do what the NFL Gamepass did, where it was pretty cheap for streaming of just NFL games at something like $60 USD for the season
If you have Foxtel chances are you are on a different price package to me. With Sports and on the Premium package as we all are now its a $120. But most are on less than this, I'm on $79 and i know people who are on $60 and some even less. I pity the people who are paying the full $120, it's not worth it. It all depends on how good a negotiator you are at asking for a price reduction. Hopefully with the new owner things might change for the better and get back to the old system of getting the package that suits you, not Foxtel.
I am on $70 for sports plus premium package. It’s on the net not cable or satellite. Sounds like their pricing model is similar to how the airlines do it….

Its beyond excellent for quality.
30 teams, 162 game season, home or away commentary or stadium noise.
Home or away radio commentary ( or Spanish) 60 fps cameras. Full game replays at any time.
Multiple devises ( can't Chromecast on all set ups for some reason)
You can also get single team subscription.
And it's usually half price 1/3 into the season.
I watch a lot of games after ( time zones) and they put chapters in so you can skip innings break ads.

Offered me a $79 deal , I said no thanks please cancel.
They said “ well what do you watch “ , I said sport & the news plus I do browse the weather feed as well.
They said well lowest we can go is $60 as you have two boxes.
I said , yeah two boxes , one is 8 years old the other 5 years old , they aren’t even the latest boxes.
Well , they said , you can have a new box ( one) and we’ll do $55
Me , no thanks , are you sending someone to collect the boxes ??
Well as you’ve been a long standing subscriber , you can have two boxes ( the ones you have ) for $50, for 12 months
Me , **** that , I’m not going through this again in 12 months , please cancel.
Them, well if you agree to a contract we’ll do it for 3 years but you are locked in.

Well, there you go, going once going twice, sold for $50. And this is really all it's really worth now days. I was on a $74 deal, then when they put us all on the Premium package, all channels. They put me up a extra $5 to $79 I said beauty, at the time I didn't have sport or the other 50% of the Foxtel channels so good deal in my books. I'll see what happens when the new owner takes over in July ?.
interesting MFB ,I have done that a few times with them ,ATM I pay 199 and have all you can eat Foxtel like all the channels ,2 boxes ,high speed internet ,Netflix Premium and 5 free movies per year the Internet is worth $75.
So you just have sport and weather or did they give you everything ?
Everything bar movies , which I didn’t watch anyway ( they have me that a few years ago as a bonus ).
But that’s no internet, just Foxtel
Oh and recording only on the IQ4 box I have . The other box is so old it doesn’t have that feature.
The bride watches those home shows where they do up old houses etc , so the TV in the family room she mainly uses with the old box.
The IQ4 is in what we call “ the media room” more comfortable chairs , soundproof ( for when I scream at the refs).
You did well! If you were planning to move to Kayo you dodged a bullet it’s absolute garbage. With all the buffering even with high speed internet you won’t be screaming at the ref but at the tv.
Yes well that was the main reason I took the offer. Honestly , I was prepared for Kayo and it’s cheaper , but this is high definition, and being Satellite it’s Crystal clear no buffering.
Only issue is when I get a massive storm, however, storm season is over by then so never an issue.
It was worth another $30 a month for that
