Bit off teh GF topic, but I noticed in today's SMH that one or two building contractors are seeking quotes for Stage 4 works at Brookvale Oval.
Stage 4 consists of the following:
"The scope of the Works includes extension to the Jane Try Grandstand, including tiered seating terrace, new corporate areas, new amenities and facilities."
I know the former has been raised previously, but it's nice to see words being transformed into action. We need the extra revenue flow and that part of the ground is particularly tired looking at the moment.
I believe there are also earlier funded works, totalling as much as $1.5 million, to be completed during the next off-season. I think this includes a new passenger lift behind the Ken Arthurson Stand and a combined video/electronic scoreboard where the current scoreboard sits and possibly new perimeter fencing around the playing surface. Would be nice if we could finally say goodbye to the old perimeter benches as well!
