Five years and a billion dollars later NRL is broke

Its coming up to cricket season right?

Well, they say Warney is the king of spin. I think the blonde from Advanced Hair would have competition with this spin doctor.....

Toddy will also have to budget for all the settlements of players with CTE and so on that will come.

Conversation should have gone like this:

😀:pileofpoop:“Yes we’re losing money hand over fist but you know what will steady the ship..?”

*PK waits*

*Greenturd draws out a rectangle in the air with his finger then breaks out in a huge smile*

*PK shakes his head and walks out*

You all have it wrong!

NRL coaches who criticise referee decisions are the source of all of the problems with the game! And all we need to fix it is a brand new $1 billion rectangular stadium in Homebush!

Toddy said so himself.

AND, now we know why they decided to up the fines for Flanno and TBaz!!

It was to pay for Grant and Greenslimes chauffeured limo’s for another month.

They've ignored the grass roots of the game for so long that I fear it has withered on the vine. Bush/Group footy is struggling and they've stood by and watched it happen. Put some of that NYC and Bunker money back into junior development and Group teams and get the sport back on it's feet. Every NRL team should be aligned with a Group comp or two. Get out there and run some training sessions, play a trial game against a group Rep side, provide a direct pathway for talented juniors from your assigned area. Put something back into the sport. I thought it couldn't get any worse than that goose Gallop but it seems I was wrong.

People said from the start that Greenturd was the wrong man for the job and it keeps getting proved as such over and over and over.

That PoS, and his offsider Grant, need to resign before they run the competition into the ground. The problem is that they will hit rock bottom and continue to dig.
That's right Toddy, wasn't even really considered as a serious candidate for the job, it's just that every serious candidate they tried to recruit, knocked the job back, and that left the NRL in an embarrassing situation and had no choice other than to give the job to Greenturd.
The only upside to all of this is that we have had around five CEO's over the past twenty seasons, so I doubt that his tenure will be long.

Two of my grandsons play junior footy in Moree.

To compete they travel every second week as far as Armidale or Guyra ( 600kms round trip).

A lot of the kids are indigenous kids whose parents don’t bother taking them away, so it’s often they have two teams when playing at home , and 2-3 players less than one team when travelling.

They used to get some funding ( a little) a few years ago so that was put into hiring School buses to save parents the drive, more travelled and played then.

They now don’t get a cracker , other than local sponsorship.

Meanwhile Auskick ( AFL ) comes into town with giveaways galore, sponsor the local junior comp and support the cost of them travelling to Tamworth to play.........WTF??

You could not get a any more League orientated town than Moree but we now have kids converting to AFL as it costs the parents less.

And don’t start me on Group footy, virtually ignored!

At this rate in 5 years we will be watching Sydney club sides playing each other at suburban grounds, with 1 match a week on tele. And I can’t wait.

Qld can have its own comp again if they want too.

5 out of 8,maybe more, of the members who left emoticons to your post are 47 .... just sayin

Tragic ... and that says it all right there .... league is a grass roots working class game ... nrl is a parasite that has just about digested the host ....

The AFL really do a fantastic job of grassroots and it means kids get into the sport at a very young age and develop a deep love and passion for the game...parents take those kids to games and get into it themselves, before you know it, you have families pouring through the gates to enjoy a day out at the footy. These kids grow up and have kids of their own and the cycle continues.

That cycle has been broken to a degree (as you've mentioned) because they game has ignored these grassroots. Pair that with the cost of taking a family to the footy in 2017 and you get an answer as to why crowds are dwindling.

My post above is a perfect example of this.

AFL being played by juniors in Northern NSW, seriously????

But they’ll win them over, freebies, sponsorship, get them onboard with GWS or Swans, and away it goes.

Makes me sick to the bottom of my stomach.

I'm beginning to think even Salim Mehajer is looking a better option for Greenburger's job. Slightly more credibility than Todd and not afraid of thinking big. Well connected too from all reports (his mainly, but who are we to judge)

Give the job to a chick. The QLD and NSW premiers seem to be going OK. Renae Castle would be my pick.

Mate, Arko is 88 and he would still do a better job than Greenturd.
