random question:

Who went to 5/8 went Lyon went out in to the centres on Sunday? Looked to me on the TV that Monas stayed at hooker. I am guessing Beaver or Willo?

I think Williamson filled in there a bit in defence, but in attack Menzies was playing in Lyons slot beside Bell, and Brett Stewart was chiming in a lot more

I was in front of the Manly team for the second half. Beaver was still defending in the second rower channel for much of the second half. It looked as if the players just moved one out - to take Orford one more player away from the ruck. Jamie was moved out one place as well. Interesting that Tahu was quiet all day and Smith couldn't run out of sight on a dark night. Grothe scored from a one on one miss from Robbo (uncharacteristic and boy was he dirty with himself in goal with Orford and others telling him to forget it.) To blame Orford or Matai for this try is unfair - it was a one on one miss. Same as it is unfair to blame Orford for Haynes try. He ran 40 m cross-field (normally a no-no) and several in the line anticpated him being wrapped up and had retreated leaving a staggered line which he exploited.
