Finch at less than $100K would have been a bargain. Loads of experience that would have been invaluable for Foran and DCE. Not my most favourite player but he could have been handy.

He's only 28 and still playing well enough to command a few hundred K at a club with no half back.

How much could the matty johns show possible pay for his 5 minute appearance each week? Doubt TV money + 50K is anywhere near enough to support the north shore lifestyle hes after, let alone set him up for life after football which is looming.

Last year Matty Johns Show was splashing a lot of money around to get players on, well above the industry standard. I'll be interested to see if they can keep up such a high talent costs in 2011 when the ratings for year 1 were far from stellar. My guess would be Finch was getting about $1,000 - $2,000 for an appearance in 2010. I'd expect for a full time TV deal in 2011 it would have been well over $50k. That combined Manly and TV money would not match the retirement money he will be getting in ESL

I hope that you are right but I have this feeling that we won't see much of these two again this year.

Also huge pressure on DCE to perform this year and we will be in trouble if either Kite and/or King suffer a long term injury this year as we are thin on front row depth.

Am reasonably excited about watching a young squad get some opportunites next year

Yes next year will be exciting seeing some of the younger players come through but I think that 2013 will be a year that we really challenge for the premiership again when they gain sufficient experience and we replace a few more from the current team

LOL.  I am always a pessimistic dribbler at the best of times.

Common knowledge is that snake is no better than 50/50 to get through the season and wolfie had had one injury free year in the past 6.  The odds are against either playing the full season.  Hope that I am wrong.

Every club has a few blokes on the minimum.  Not soaking up much cap space if he's only in the 25 at the expense of someone who probably wasn't going to get a crack anyway.
