Don't know what his fitness or defence are really like, but he looks like he could fill a bench spot if needed...yes against lesser opposition but has athleticism, speed, leg drive, can pass before or in the line, looks willing...
We have enough props for this year, why not wait til next year when both Matai and Stewart finish and buy a quality prop.
Kapow can play prop too and is suited to limited mins footy IMO. More impact. Play the first 25-30 and then bring him back on 50-55mins in.Jake is a prop remember.
Sironen to lock.
I would think Meehan/Hoppa should be ready for a first grade call up pending NRL registration. Worth a shot IMOAt the moment , this is the pack and bench that would likely start the season assuming the Sironen rumors are correct.
8. Lussick
10. Myles
11. Tapau
12. Sironen??
13. Trebojevic
14. Brown
15. AFB
16. Lawrence
17.
18 Meehan
19. Hopoate
20. Lane
21. Winterstein
To me we don't have a genuine prospect for the number 17 jersey wether it be a front rower or second rower. And if we start the year having to use any of Meehan, Hopoate, Lane or Winterstein then it is going to be a very very long season.
He's certainly a skilful beast! And let's face it we were very one out in 2016 and didn't really ask too many questions to the defence. That's why I was disappointed Mateo didn't come on. We need X factor all over the park so if it's not this bloke we need to keep looking. Against great defensive teams like Ure Melbournes unless u have a few tricks up your sleeve ure simply not gonna score enuff points. Some creativity in the forwards is something we need to address. (Oh and players coached to actually support the ball runner wouldn't go astray either)Don't know what his fitness or defence are really like, but he looks like he could fill a bench spot if needed...yes against lesser opposition but has athleticism, speed, leg drive, can pass before or in the line, looks willing...

Mateo was never given a fair go .. He was great at fiveeigth when foran was hurt 2015 almost unstoppable with that offload .. This year we were crying out for some creativity he could have been the answer to a lot of our problems .. But wasnt even given 5 mins of game time in the entire season with all the injuries we had & the way our backline was functioning he should have been given a chance . We had nothing to lose.. I feel for the guyHe's certainly a skilful beast! And let's face it we were very one out in 2016 and didn't really ask too many questions to the defence. Did he earn a spot with a strong off-season so players like Green couldn't sneak under his guard?Mateo was never given a fair go
Couldnt be any more frustrating than watching your backline crabbing accross the field till your runners either run out of room or are given a poor pass .. I dont care how lazy he is he has ball skills & a great ability to offload & create 2nd faze .. He is to big to handle one on one out wide as bad as we were he deserved a chance . You cant have $500k sitting in the grandstand . Just sayingDid he earn a spot with a strong off-season so players like Green couldn't sneak under his guard?
Did he then set out to dominate as man of the match week after week in NSW Cup to force the coach's hand?
HE may have been injured for all I know but I would say the short answers are No and No.
Lets face it Mateo is a frustrating player, given his obvious talent. We all would have loved him to kick on here but when you say he didn't get a chance, sorry but I don't buy it.
I think Tapau is far more dangerous at second row, far, far more. His minutes as you mentioned are limited at prop and his general impact is also lessonedKapow can play prop too and is suited to limited mins footy IMO. More impact. Play the first 25-30 and then bring him back on 50-55mins in.

Yeah have to agree to disagree. He is a power athlete as opposed to an endurance athlete. Short spurts of power off the bench I think it probably more suited than having him out there for 80 mins.. IMO of course!I think Tapau is far more dangerous at second row, far, far more. His minutes as you mentioned are limited at prop and his general impact is also lessoned
At the end of the day he's good anywhere you put him in the forward packYeah have to agree to disagree. He is a power athlete as opposed to an endurance athlete. Short spurts of power off the bench I think it probably more suited than having him out there for 80 mins.. IMO of course!
He's not the worst but he's far from the best. He'd be cheap.Read somewhere on Facey that Sika Manu is in discussions!
Now there's bottom of the barrel for you!!
I did post else where on here that Sika would be the most likely choice for that superleague backrow rumour.Read somewhere on Facey that Sika Manu is in discussions!
