Nah i agree 100%, nothing worse than being stuck on the other side of the world.

With a good agent at least you have a backup if needed.

Look there's a place for simple online stuff, and at times airlines / hotels will dump capacity / rooms on the Net...but as I say if the **** hits the fan somewhere a reliable local travel agent can be like a lifeline.
