having joined the board only this year can people answer me this question.

'What did we talk about on the forum during the good years 2006-2012 when our side was winning and we had a settled roster and coaching staff that we pretty well all respected?'

at the moment there's a lot of negativity, player rumours, owner hatred, coach hatred etc etc.

And obviously there cant have been as many ' my team lists' as now due to the fact turbo wouldnt have been allowed on his parents computer back then. 🙂

Just interested that's all?

Eagle I think most supporters know we're in a rebuilding phase. And I think they are as loyal to the club as anyone on the Board.

The problem is, unlike the people in charge, they are left without any say whatsoever regarding what is happening. They see what seem illogical decisions especially involving locally developed talent and rightfully ask why.

The problem is that all we get in response are PR jobs by Peters, which says nothing more than how good the management is handling things, but little more. And they rarely get any media material telling us what is happening behind the scenes, like we're the enemy.

Eagle, we are the supporters. We are what in the long term keep this club alive. Penn's money will benefit the club no doubt. But if you alienate the supporters, you alienate the gate. Then again many of us wonder, given the lack of interest shown in the supporters group whether they care at all for the supporters.

Ahhh the happy times.... We always had infighting in the clubs management and owners. It was more tolerable though as we were winning and had more owners to hate. Factional fighting on here as well as the club. Bring back the factions... 🙂

prior to the mwse forum shutting there was actual analysis and thought in the negative posts.

Rather than just saying player X is crap it would be player X has bad hands but runs hard. Nicknames like blue arsed fly Watmough, hands like feet Kite existed.

Set plays were though of and discussed, pro's and cons etc.

and people even used facts back then.

I'm only a junior member ( 8 years) but not much has changed, lots of negatives back then as well.

However, we did play in 4 GF's, winning two so there were lots of positives during this time as well.

Whilst frustrating it's perfectly understanding that during this period fans want to vent!!

And vent they do.

Opinion for good or bad....pretty boring if it was all roses....in the end, even those posts deemed negative are from passionate Manly fans who love the club and deserve to get their point across.

The forum was pretty positive in the moments after the 2008 and 2011 gf wins. The rest of the time it is rich with paranoia, open brawling, wrong-headed ideas, absurd rumours, errant apostrophes, questionable spelling and humour.

Luke Williamson.
He was a utility player who filled in at hooker and the back row. Was the most skilled of players but defended strongly was always consistent but stood out in a team of stars for not being one, hence why we assumed he had photos of Des and a goat
