That Croker off side was absolute BS… replay clearly showed he had one foot behind ref (who was right f**king next to him)!
Three tackles and Parra had not got past their 10m line so FW decides they need a leg up…

Good game, a few errors but that’s the way the team wants to play.

Tommy a touch off with his passing today..
Tommy needs to straighten his runs down our left side. Just going a little sideways there and that’s what’s put Koula under pressure. That said gotta just set it up for the big sweep at their left edge defence. Trys there all days. Like shelling peas!

Yeah, I get that. Seibold and the players have shouted that to the rooftops. But you still have to know when to dial it back a little. That inside pass to Turbo that Jake threw, when everyone on Earth could see it coming, was never on - especially after we'd scrambled to defend two previous sets. We barely saw the ball after that till the dying minutes of the half. Given that all the momentum was against us, the smarter play there would have been to prioritise completing a set.

Loving the shapes we're showing in attack, but we are still defensively suspect, especially on the DCE/Rueben/Paulo side, and we need to take all of our opportunities. When you are good with the ball and not so good without it, possession is always going to be the key.

Some on here are not going to like this.... but it was Manly who invited Parra back into the game with their errors.

Not the ref.
Agree. The Ben error was a turning point. The only thing I will say, the offside was ridiculous. If you watch the replay, Croker was slow to get back but did eventually get behind the ref before moving up quickly. The speed at which he reset might have spooked the ref into assuming he never got back 10m.

I wish Jaxson Paulo would stop trying to solve things on his own. If you have to run in front of your own player to shut the play down, you don’t need to run in. You only follow in when your centre bites. Garrick hadn’t bitten on the Talagi try and held his ground, and for no reason, Paulo hit in.

He is also very lucky that Gutho is a ball hog. If he’d passed down that short side, Harper scores untouched. Paulo was just jogging back from the previous play. You could see DCE give him an absolute bake.

Yep noticed that.. I think you will find he either lifts his 1% efforts or when Saab and Talau are fit he loses his spot..

Good thing is. He has some time and a chance to lift his effort game.. it won't go unnoticed come post game video analysis day I bet.

I like him he's got some upside but surely he needs a rocket up his a@#e

Are you kidding? Garrick fell for the decoy and would have got scorched on the outside yet again ( that’s 3 in 3 games). Paulo had no choice but to run in and try to stop the play.

The rot started when Burbo screwed up the play the ball.

But the ref hasn't helped.

Gutho was tackled on the 6th and he let it go.
Turbo was tackled before he got the ball.

Even possession and refereeing and we should get home.

Parra will continue to offload early in the 2nd 1/2 but PauLo won’t last the entire 1/2 Manly just to steady the run away with it

Yeah I like to see them temper it a little during those periods where we’ve defended our arses off. I’m all for throwing caution to the wind when we are going set for set but if we’ve just defended our line for 3-4 sets, just go forward and kick long.

The modern game between two good sides is a bit like the unlimited tackle days. Possession wins, defenders fatigue.
Unfortunately possesion can now be determined by the ref with "interpretations". I just hope the best team wins on merit, and it's Manly. :)

If you ever wonder why this team can go from blitzing an opposition one minute,to be chasing their tale the next, you only need to look at the lead up to that last try.Great run by Brooks,a repeat set, then DCE decides to attempt a kick through on the first and lucky for him,the ref favoured Manly. Not enough calm heads
Seriously eels has enough ball and enough ref assisted field position to score 30 points in that half
