FORMER Dee Why professional surfer Toby Martin has never been shy with his love for the Sea Eagles.

The Sea Eagles are loooking for new members ahead of the 2011 NRL season.

Travelling the world for over a decade as a full-time surfer, Martin was always letting his fellow competitors know where he stood in the rugby league world.
Whenever he would confront the likes of Mick Fanning (Panthers), Joel Parkinson (Titans) and Tom Whitaker (Roosters), footy was always a talking point.
“It was pretty cool, whenever we would be travelling overseas I would take my Sea Eagles jumper with me,” Martin said as he joined fellow surfers Layne Beachley, Laura Enever and Davey Cathels in the Sea Eagles latest membership drive.
“I would always hang it up on display at each location and let everyone know who I followed. It was always a lot of fun.”
The Sea Eagles are currently embroiled in a battle of the beaches with the Sharks and Roosters trying to sign as many members from their shores before the start of the 2011 NRL season.
It’s all part of the Sea Eagles’ attempts to sign 1000 new members in one hit at their annual fan day at the Sydney Sports Academy in Narrabeen on Monday, January 31, from 4pm. All players will be available for autographs and photos.
For membership inquiries, call 9970 3000.
