Dylan Brown - $13 million deal with Knights

Most clubs have two or three players on around million dollars. But 1.3 or 1.4 million is crazy unless you are signing Nathan Cleary. Brown has shown he is a good 5/8 when he has a great number 7 inside of him. However he has not displayed the level of game management and leadership that can justify such a huge chunk of your salary cap over 10 years. Huge gamble by Newcastle as they have signed him as a number 7. We will be reading a lot about this signing over the next few years.

People like to whine about our big 3… Tom, DCE and Jake take up a combined $3.2M… 2 of those guys play EVERY game and captain both states in SOO whilst the other would possibly be the best player in the game without the constant injuries…

Shiiiiteys have Ponga (who is also injury prone), Brown and Hastings for $3.5M… and Hastings plays reserves…

I mean Hastings wont be there when Brown is but I take your point.

Deal seems a risk in the long term but in the short term could give the Knights a big lift. Just checked and only @JEF and @KNUCKLES picked Knights to make the 8 this year... I'm starting to regret that I didn't pick them!

I know the player has a 10 day cooling off period to flip on his new contract.

Can the club offering the contract also flip and withdraw during the cooling off period 🤔😊

Watching him play the first two weeks, they certainly should.
