I posted this in another thread but thought that it deserved its own thread
I don't want to be a negative poster just positing my thoughts on the season and having a look at the draw to come
Sorry for the long post

Post from other thread:
You can see it now

Tigers wont be easy to beat even though they have not won at brookvale oval for about 13 years.. Not confident at all next week wests tigers will grind us into an arm wrestle type of a game and I just don't know if we will be able to compete with them.

Then we play parra at ANZ Stadium where our last win at that venue was 2013 since our family became members in 2014 we have lost every game we have played out there.. apart from the U/20's GF last year

Very much a danger game as I feel we will go in way overconfident and parra will have a point to prove. If we play like today we are going to get our pants pulled down

Then the knights at home who are not that easy this year.

Realisticly the next 3 games are very winnable and but with how we are playing this year so far I suspect we will win just one of them and pretty much season over as we then have one hellish draw after that ( see below for draw)

6 West tigers Home
7 Eels away
8 Knights Home
9 Roosters away
10 Broncos away ( home game but part of double header)
11Storm away
12 Raiders away
13 Cowboys Home
14 Warriors Home ( home game in NZ)
15 Dragons away
16 Panthers away
17 Bye

So we play 3 out of the next 11 rounds at brookvale ( with 2 homes games away, and with 6 away games in that block.

If this is not depressing enough then we play
18 Storm Home
19 Roosters Home
20 Panthers Home
21 Sharks away
22 Bulldogs Home
23 Titans Home
24 West tigers away
25 Broncos away

Even though that is 3 straight home games and 5/8 games is at Home I think the season will be long gone by then.

I think our top 17 are a very good team who could beat anyone on their day. But when five of them get injured and are unavailable - especially Turbojet who is our major attacking weapon - we become one of the worst teams. The only option is to blood youngsters, like Tent, Anderson, Fainu, Tom Wright, Sippers . . . just to see if they are up to standard. I'm not suggesting that you make all the changes in one match, but why did we take J Wright to Gladstone and not T Wright or Anderson?
I'm glad Jetski was given his chance. He should be in the 13 next week; so too Hastings. That's two injections of young spark. By the end of the season I'm expecting all of those I've named have had some first grade experience, and some of them will shine.

Two season ending injuries will hurt with over 20 rounds to go, jetski will cover tanginoa.
The loss of sirro is what will hurt us, and unfortunately Frankie ain't knowere near his class.

We really need to be winning at least 2/3, if not all three of these next games. We've got two at home where the boys seem to grow a leg and then obviously the Parra game will be dangerous.

The thing that we've seen thus far in the competition is that whilst that draw in the middle portion looks difficult, teams like the Storm, Cowboys, Broncos etc have real chinks in there armour, and won't be the impossible task they have previously been.

Do you really think Toddy will give us dispensation to use the guys not in the top 30?

Especially when you see the impact State of O will, potentially, on teams like the Dragons

As we discovered at the back end of 2017 when you disrupt a settled team through injury the combinations formed through pre season or during the year are lost, and it’s bloody hard to adjust.

We will probably not have one SOO rep ( yes I know they are talking Api ) whilst some teams will lose quite a few.

It’s not wrist slitting time just yet!

My worry is we will loose both the Turbos...and we see how we travel without Tom!

Have you forgotten the twin Turbos?
Jake is a certainty and Tom is a 50-50 chance, even if it is on the wing where he'll switch occasionally with Teddy.
DCE is Queensland's best half so I hope they continue to ignore him.

I know this is my own thread but bumping it because it now becomes relevant

Next win really round 17 bye I am not kidding check out our draw above.

Really can't see us winning for a few months very sad really

Feel flat and hurting tonight

I just wish the club , CEO, owners , staff and coach was the same but really they aren't.

Looking at the draw I see us winning probably 2-3 more games this season. Unless some other sh#t team can save us the spoon looks to be ours 🙁

We will lose both Turbo’s to SOO no matter how badly they are playing. API a real chance too. I just can’t see a win in our near term future.

And that is the sad part in all this we look a rabble and definitely heading for the spoon which this proud old club does not deserve.

On the bright side at least the Dogs lost again and stay below us on the ladder on points differential.
