From the 'NRL Casualty Ward - All the Latest Injury News, Updates & Returns Details' web page, Here is the Latest NRL Injured or Unavailable Update:

* * * (Updated: Tuesday, 25 Jul 2023) * * *

Sea Eagles forward Taniela Paseka is set to miss the remainder of the regular season after rupturing his medial ligament in Round 21 against the Sharks.

The club confirmed Paseka will have an operation on Tuesday to repair the injury, with the recovery time estimated to be six weeks.

The news appears better for fellow forward Josh Aloiai, who suffered a recurrent shoulder dislocation against Cronulla, with scans revealing no significant worsening of the injury.

A shoulder specialist is now set to map out a management strategy for the remainder of the season.

Manly Sea Eagles
  • Taniela Paseka (Knee, Round 27-Finals Week 1)
  • Josh Aloiai (Shoulder, TBC)
  • Ben Trbojevic (Hamstring, Round 23)
  • Karl Lawton (Calf, Round 23-24)
  • Tom Trbojevic (Pectoral, Season)

Also, from the NRL Casualty Ward, Manly hub page, there are slight variations to the information regarding the unavailable or injured players and their return periods:

  • Ben Trbojevic (Hamstring, Round 23)
  • Karl Lawton (Calf, Round 24)
  • Josh Aloiai (Shoulder, TBC)
  • Tom Trbojevic (Pectoral, Next Season)
  • Taniela Paseka (Knee, Finals)

I would be starting Keppie over Sips. Sean always plays better when he starts. Lodge can provide the metres, and Sean some aggression and sting in defence when things are tight, and before he gets a little slow laterally, Woods' experience can tighten up the middle again for a short stint before half time. Keppie to return fresh for start of 2nd half.

Meanwhile, when Lodge is gassed, Sips and/or Bully can provide better impact and go-forward.

Either way, if these 5 guys do their job to the best of their ability, we win (it will also help if Schu's attitude today is on point)

Rip in Manly, MIGOTY

I worry we don't have a great record when it comes to milestones the past few years.

That said everything to play for today
Your Frogster
Your Captain
Your Team

Rip in, go hard and leave nothing and everything on the field

Go Manly

Ps, fk Flanno get it up him !

If we were serious, Fainu would be getting selected - but he isn't a Moses player.

Hopefully we can back up again this week. Seems to be the trend with us. We put in a good performance. Hopes are raised and we dish up nonsense the following week. Fingers crossed. This week should be a good enough reason to do it for dce

Obvious must win today. But obviously we will win this one whether it is ugly or pretty, we will prove to be too strong for a struggling Dragons outfit. I am expecting a good solid team performance tonight. The boys will be extra pumped for DCE's Big 300. We can't afford to put ourselves under any excessive pressure defensively with the short turnaround next week vs The Roosters in 5 days time. We need to dominate the Dragons and win the battle of possession. If we do then I expect us to score 5 or 6 tries and win by 13+

This is one of those games where we do need to be looking at next week and play smart by conserving our energy and minimising our errors.

If we beat both the Dragons and the Roosters we are definitely back in the 8 unless the Sharks manage to beat the Panthers this week which is highly unlikely.

From there we would need to win 3 of our last 4 games to finish in 7th or 8th spot.

So we are definitely going to have to beat either the Panthers or the Warriors in our run home and win our last two games against the Bulldogs and the Tigers which we certainly should.

One thing for certain if we sneak into the 8 we will go into the finals as one of the form teams of the comp.

Tonight - Manly 32 Dragons 12

So much to play for today, with DCE & Croker's milestone games as well as striving for the top 8. Hope the special occasion doesn't overtake the task at hand. If we don't break the hoodoo today against our bogey team at that bogey ground, we may as well give up.

Rip in and Go Manly!!

If the Shooey can't produce a gang-buster performance against this dysfunctional mob ... then he is NO chance of ever getting a piece of @Budgie 's orange cake ... if he doesn't I'm officially off the bandwagon.
I agree with you @Woodsie
The Dragons have been an inconsistent dysfunctional team and have not been capable of wining back to back all season

The only X factor thing they have going for them is their unbeaten 20 year Record at the gong

But as we all know ....
Records
Game plans
Defensive lines
and Salary caps are All meant to be Broken

To Our Manly Boys ..
If records refuse to be broken, Shatter them and Slay the Dragons
