I think the Gong has got some vendetta against Manly for the final try in the 2003 win there (push 'play' to see Hoppa intercept try right at the end of this video). The day coach Brownie slapped Barrett. Manly has never won there since.

We’re done with that rubbish, we’re smashing them Sunday and that’s that.
I see they’ve banged 50 on us a couple of times, love to see our milestone lads celebrating with a 50 point demolition, but I’ll settle for a win anyway by any margin, because I’m sick of the Goons and sick of the Gong, were killing the hoodoo Sunday, bring it, most excited I’ve been about a game since last Sunday. A weeks a long time in Rugby league.

I care not about the 'gong curse. The reality is - IF we are to squeak in to make finals, or do any damage this year, then these are the games we need to get 2 points from.
The boys have ALL the motivation in the world (300 games and 100 games) and we still have a shot at the 8.
I am feeling optimistic for sure.
Out of curiosity (for a smarter person than me) - what is Jake's winning % in the last few years?
I know a lot is made of Tom's absence and its impact on us, but I feel like we win more often than not when Jake plays (such as last week vs during origin and his injuries). He adds so much passion and quality.... let's hope he plays every game until the end of the season.

Ray Vaega has no place playing on a wing in the NRL. He is too slow and gets exposed every time he has to turn and chase a kick. His cardio is also not first grade standard for an outside back. He does have heart though. His best chance might be to transition into the forwards.
Disagree. Tui has the same speed without the aggression. Fitness can be improved.
