Just watched the titans v dragons game and recognised they took the 2 with not much time on the clock. What has been refreshing for me watching manly recently is they are playing for 6 rather than 2, really noticable last week at a crucial time in the game. This reminds me of our grest 2008/2011 teams that always backed themserlves to score. Its a sign of a confident team and I fu...king love it, regardless of stats or what the experts think is the SAFE option

Queen Arthur showed a distinct lack of confidence in his misfits attack last night and took the two at first opportunity.
Understandable with that lot.
I think there's time for it and not.
Certainly not in the opening couple of minutes against the dogs.

The first one I can sort of understand, the second one was negative. But having actually watched a game of theirs since they beat us, I can see why they are taking shots at goal, their attack is pathetic. Gee Widdop can take some poor options, his passing was atrocious tonight and his kicking game was hopeless.

Who won. What was the score in the dragons game?

Take the 2 in front, get the ball back and score the try. Take the 8 :hi:

I like the kicking of a field goal any time the opportunity of 100% accuracy is near guaranteed.

It mentaly deflates the opposition whilst lifting the Team, and we get the ball back to score again
Also will have defenders rushing out of their line next time we have a potential shot, thereby leaving a gap to go for a try instead of the next FG 😛

There's a time and place for taking the 2 points. I'll never forget week 1 of the 2013 finals against the Roosters. We made 3 line breaks whilst the Roosters made none and they snuck away with a 4-0 victory after getting a grubber behind Taufua. The Roosters were very willing to give away penalties over and over in their 20 on that night so that they could reset their defence. I think opting for the 2 points could have made a huge difference.

if field goals are so good they can decide games
make them worth 4!

Unless it's a rare game of war....or you can close out a game and the clock...always go the 4-6 points.
It gives the defence both confidence and rest when a team takes the 2.
How often a team leads 2-0 and not long after the score blows out 16-2 the other way.
Much as I hate Broncos, always appreciated Alf taking those quick taps and applying the blow torch.

I love the positivity we are exuding. And we are getting rewarded with 4 or 6 points when we take the risk.

I always like the philosophy of 'what doesn't the opposition want us to do' now at 6 points clear with a couple of minutes to go, they don't want us to take the 2. We do. Smart play.

Attacking the line early in the game, the opposition out on their feet and all over the place....they want a rest. Go at them.

This attitude at the moment is a winners attitude. Can't give it more than a big thumbs up.

Always take the 2, it's better to have them in the bank than to be chasing them later, you've got a reward and you get the ball back.

Same as Chez's fg on half time last week, if he missed so what, it was right on h/t and it makes them have to chase the game rather than hang in, as it turned out we didn't need it but it helped maintain our dominance.
Taking the 2 when on offer should be the same even when trailling by 8, think of the long game.

I'm sure we've had a few games earlier this year when we took the 2 on offer early in the game ( Roosters? , Raidrers? )that helped get us the win in tight games.

Take 'em when you can.
