Does Manly have the slowest wingers in the comp?

JT's injury was to his shoulder, right, ? so he's bound to be running just the same speed he was last year.
As for Wolfy he seems to me to running about the same pace as always.
Wing play is more about anticipation, positional strategy, high leaping and a willingness to tackle hard when necessary.
Dont forget how wet it was all week, these conditions would have slowed everyone down.

In summary, this thread makes little sense.

David Williams used to be exceptionally quick before the injuries. I remember he scored a great 100m try at Canberra Stadium in 08 and he was lightening. Injuries seemed to have cruelled the speed somewhat (much like Snake), but he is still a lot faster than he showed on Friday night. He is coming back from a fairly concerning knee injury and lacks match fitness so don't assume for one second that we saw him in full flight the other night!

George is also the envy of opposition supporters as one of the best wingers in the game, so I hardly think he needs to be a sprinter to justify a place in the team; he is a champion!

I'll agree with that. I certainly slowed down on the weekend, and I spent the entire time in doors.
