Did you see the City Country squads yesterday?

You can all bang on about Scott Penn, Scott Fulton, our "local" juniors and "unlocal" juniors and lost souls who found greener pastures at other Clubs.
Yesterday, there were age division games between Country and City. Manly had one player in the Under 16's , Riley Caswell from a team that came last this year as well as only 1 rep in the Under 18's, Latu Fainu.
Alarmingly, for the Under 18's, there are 5 players from West Tigers and 3 player reps for Country from Macarthur Tigers, Illawarra has 6 reps for Country and Canberra has 3 City reps for City and 2 for Monaro in the Country team.
You would expect to see these players filtering through to the NRL squads in 2025 to 2027.
There is a fair bit of work Manly needs to do starting with the NRL's starting 13 through to the top 30 squad, the Reserves and the three divisions of Juniors that seem to be fundamentally important to the Club to achieve long term results.
Hopefully the Country boys who joined the juniors this year can acclimatise and reap some results next year.
Hopefully Geoff Toovey is the man to set up a plan/system for the Club to go forward again whilst the NRL end of things try to bring on the juniors who are languishing between Blacktown, Development signings and Flegg. He is certainly starting behind teams like Wests, St George Illawarra and Canberra.

Pretty obvious the failures in the pathway system when you look where SG Ball, Harold Mathews and Jersey Flegg are on the table. All near finished or are dead last.
