Have a listen to his err - arm - press conference. That's a winning coach folks. No tears -just a focus on the notion that we need to be better.

Love your work Dessie!

The five time GF coach, and two time premiership winner says hi.

Edit - It wasn't the greatest win of his coaching or playing career - the four premier ships he won as a Sea Eagle trump this victory - obviously.
I think this is now the best win Barrett has ever been involved with.
Slightly better than the Dogs edging out the Gummies yesterday, and also surpassing his effort in getting Manly ready to make the finals in 2019 (under Des Hasler).

The last two matches have proven how wrong DESpicable was with his selections in the first four matches, which finished in catastrophic defeats.
Had it not been for injury DESpicable would still have in the top 17:
Lance
Sir Loin
Suli
Jetski and
Walker

Some people just can't see past their own resentment - sad, considering all Des has achieved with this club.

Congratulations Dessie - keep sticking it up the naysayers!
yep agreed - just posted on another thread that the deathriders... in the main have thankfully shut up or started following the Dogs. But yes some.... just can't let it go. But yes Des has nothing at all to do about this turn around - absolutely zero - he is the worst coach we have ever had..... Move on - Des is loyal - he believes in loyalty and that can be a fault but in galvanizing a team and a club... loyalty is essential. Many of the players we were all wanting dropped are now playing out of their skins. Yes Turbo has had a MASSIVE impact BUT Des remanining loyal and putting together the game plan and putting people in a position to succeed and keeping the team/club together when it could have all imploded has obviously been a big impact as well.

Still not on Des island the changes were forced on him. Lets see if he rushes kfc suli straight back in.

I'm sure he will find a spot for Sironen and Gosiewski when fit.

Des is loyal - he believes in loyalty

Wow this the same Des that was negotiating with the dogs leading up to a Grand Final? The same Des who raided our club of assistant coaches, fitness and medical staff along with our recruiting team.

The players he tried to poach surely this can't be the same Des?

Maybe the word "loyal" means something different to you. Thanks for the laugh anyway.

Des could have been a legend if he had stayed with us after 2011. We probably would have won the 2013 and possibly 2012 premierships too.

There is no doubt that he is an excellent coach but the 6 again rule has taken some time for him to adapt to and his selections in the first 4 rounds were questionable at best. It's pretty hard to look at the performances Harper has put in over the last 3 weeks as well as the end of 2020 and come to any other conclusion than that it was a mistake to pick Suli over him.
