Journey Man
Assume you are marooned on a desert island. A genie appears with good news and bad news. The bad news is that you will not be rescued and you will spend the rest of your living days on the island.

The good news is that the genie has an iPod to give you and a few hours of download ability. Your mission is to select the ten albums that you wish to spend the rest of your life with - but there are a few rules:

1. You are only allowed one album per band and/or artist.

2. "Best of" and compilation albums are not allowed.

3. No more than three of the albums can be a double disk or more.

What do you choose and why?

This leaves out genres like dance.

I would download sets of certain DJ's which are not released on albums or as albums.

However a must on my list would be

- Beautiful Girls - Morning Sun (maybe learn yourself, hard to split the two)
- Pete Murray - See the Sun
- Jack Johnson (not sure which album here maybe on and on)
- The Smiths - Meat is Murder
- Radio Birdman (I have to break your rule here they only really had EP's and Radio birdman Essential would come with me, stuff your genie and his rules)

Now some sets I would want to have with me
Steve Angello - radio one essential mix live at amnesia Ibiza august 2006
Plump Dj's 2003 Field Day
Freq Nasty 03 essential mix
They would probably fit on one CD; so I am claiming them as 1

Now I am not going to finish my list but I post a question

Is it worth downloading all those songs if you wont have access to recharge the iPOD the first time it runs out of batteries??

Yes. The genie was the Tim Tam genie so the batteries will be never ending.

I've never seen Jeff Buckley look so out of place.

Willstyles: Yeah he is a bit out of place but he's still brilliant.

Clon: I don't believe you hahhaa... just kidding mate.. everytime i've seen them they have kicked arse

Not really my sort of music though Nutz. i dont mind the old school hard stuff like Pantera but my heavy days are over.

Have you guys heard of Xavier Rudd? He is bloody fantastic, basically a one man band, he sings the song off the Mycareer add, if you get the chance to see him do so.

Other notes from Pyramid,

Evermore, brilliant, they were probably the pick for mine.
Silverchair sucked arse, they were dissapointing.
Mylo, awesome, just awesome.
Freestylers, good but not as good as I expected.
Living End, better than I expected.
Ugly Duckling, try hard Beastie Boys, they were so bad it wasnt funny.

Hey Doug, Evermore are on Live at the Chapel on Channel 10 tomorrow night at 11.15pm apparently. My nephew has been touring with them and told me to have a look.

Back to the thread.

Basement Jaxx - Rooty
Coldplay - X and Y
Dizzee Rascal - Boy in da corner
Eminem - The marshall mathers LP
Felix da housecat - Devin Dazzle and the Neon Fever
Jamiroquai - A funk odyssey
Paul Mac - Panic Room
Prodigy - Music for jilted generation
Scissor Sisters - Scissor Sisters
System of a down - Toxicity

Doug, Mylo and feestylers were awesome at Field Day, highlight for me though were Plump Dj's, loose canons and Martin Solverg.

As for Xavier Rudd, have seen him before and know of him, very good and every thing he does, you can see the passion he is putting into his music and how much he feels every beat and every phrase.

Did you see the beautiful girls at Pyramids? How were they?

Mate they were on early, like 11 in the morning and PJ and I were suffering heavily from the night before but I have seen them before. They are pretty awesome.
