Depth aint so bad

The backline that ran out today is pretty much our depth backline for next year.
We were missing
Turbo
Suli
Walker
Saab
Schuster
Considering the amount of "outs" the last couple weeks has been impressive considering we were meant to have NO depth. Harper is a pleasant surprise and Hoppa had his best game and started yo show his strength. Parker will be a handy back up and do a job when required. Funa is just a blessing and will be in our starting side somewhere next year. What was seen to be a weakness could possibly be our strentgth next year.
I'll also add did anyone see Ben Turbo sitting in the crowd? He looks like a friggin giant, tall and bulky. He looks like he will be physically ready next year and will also add depth to our outside backs.

I love to see Hoppa next week start but say Garrick and Tom are back he miss out.

Really want to see what this can do next week:
Turbo
Hoppa
Funa
Harper
???
Walker
DCE

Could be exciting! I thought Miski had a good game tonight as well, happy to see him get a start.

Still can't ****ing tackle though, can we hurry up and invest in a Sandpit?

I think Burbo looks like Ivan Drago. And Drago has a nice ring to it.

Our backline did go better last night, albeit against No. 16 team.

A few good points;

The left side defence successfully covered up the area of the field previously known as "Jorges Jump". Parker, Funa and Miski repelled 4 attacks in that area (only to let one in off a high kick, which was a dubious put down and called no try by the ref?)

Line breaks by Funa and Harper were encouraging. Hope they can replicate those runs against better teams. Young Hoppa showed more confidence in himself and better match fitness. + + signs for the future.

Depth is non existent if the young guys are not given a chance and only were once the season is over. 1 win against the worst team in the comp in 7 weeks means little and what is more concerning the worst attack in the comp still managed 20 against us.
there is talent in our youth but without game time at the top level, they are also full of inexperience and errors/mistakes. des has erred massively this year in bringing these guys on and i dont see 2021 been much different.
one has to feel for cust, sure his game can be full of mistakes and des punishes him for it by dropping him, yet the opposite in terms of leniancy is appliec to the likes of tafua, levi, croker, etc
