So happy. I was praying his name would be on the list. He completely brought our club to shame in the semifinal against the Roosters. His stint at Manly was mediocre. Goodbye and good riddance.Big Lodge is officially off.
I don't really think it's the same, because we very clearly have incumbents in Brooks and DCE, with DCE probably having two years to go. Nowhere else Humphreys could've slotted in but reserve grade.I also hope we don’t regret letting Jamie H go , if he turns into a gun half it’ll be another one lost, like Gutherson & JWH.

There’s a lot , but most teams would have lists like that, and there reasons for every single one of them that you mention , it not just like we said “ onya bike “ to all of them.01. Clinton Gutherson

Markos: tell me our current team could beat this team. I dare you. When you look at all the plonks in our forward pack, is there any wonder people get frustrated and/or the ****s?

Our side would annihilate that team. The backline and second row are awful. The starting props and hooker are the only positions where that side is better than ours.01. Clinton Gutherson

I double dare you to include
Triple dare you
Grow up
Bozo
Fatty
Des
John Dorahy
Phil Blake
and many others who through circumstances move on
Or do we not give credit for doing the opposite and scoring players such as
Mooney
Branighan
Robert’s
Boyde
I can tell you that even your dream era you speak off there are players who do not speak or be in contact and the fans are much more passionate and involved than the players
fact is I seen 4 or 5 regular and talk about similar topics
Ryan with the risk of making you feel unwell
You are the most depressing poster on this site and just for once try and smell the roses
Your intelligence seems sound but your methodology of getting a point across is consistently depressing and targeted in a way to make you sound superior.
Your not
Because of this I have resisted to block you like many others but you leave me no choice
No hard feelings
Go Manly says
Go manly
I think that if you look at each of those players in @Ryan post there’s a specific reason as to why each one was let go.Peter O 'Sullivan , the highly regarded recruiter [ well used to be ] rated J W H as the next big thing prop wise when Manly reluctantly let him go and no doubt Manly were fully aware of his potential at the time but the choice then was to try to move on the likes of Kite , Perry and Jason King and these 3 were essentially at the top of their games at that stage .
Then unlikely Manly would have been able to recruit or keep the likes of Marty T . or A F B [ if he somehow was able to be retained ]
Not sure if Sam Fainu will eventually reach the level of J W H but he would be the other one who in an ideal scenario for Manly may have been well worth trying to retain long term .
Would rate A F B slightly better then J W H in any case , just with a personal take .
Can't see any major issues with the rest of notable or reasonably notable players that have left the past 10 or so years
Humphreys is a well rounded and quite versatile footy player but would expect just a fair level i st grader at best if given an opportunity there at Souths .
Also still no misgivings letting Gutho go, great competitor and talented footy player but as things have played out , just would have been too hard to accommodate cap wise and with general playing and positional circumstances
comments added01. Clinton Gutherson - agree we should have kept him
02. Christian Tuipulotu - when did he become a good player? He scored a few tries at Saints this year but prior to that he didn't really do much while here. Talau is a much better option IMO.
03. Jesse Ramien - it took him a few years to settle into his game, after a stint at the Sharks then Newcastle, where he didn't show much until returning to the Sharks
04. Peta Hiku OR Brian Kelly - I would have liked to have kept Hiku. Kelly wanted out to be closer to family.
05. Albert Hopoate - see Christian Tuipulotu.
06. Tom Wright OR Kaeo Weekes OR Kieran Foran - Tom Wright is good at union, didn't show much consistency when here. Kaeo Weekes has started to show some promise this season but didn't make the most of the opportunities he got here.
07. Nycho Hynes - was injured & wen through prolonged mental health issues before being picked up by Melbourne from QLD Cup. Would have surplus to DCE IMO.
08. Jared Waerea-Hargreaves - Uncle Nick offered him more than we were prepared to.
09. Apisai Koroisou - the club chose to go with Mansae Fainu & had no way of knowing the stupidity he would get up to in the offseason.
10. Addin Fonua-Blake - he wanted out & was starting to show a bad attitude.
11. Dylan Walker - what has he actually done in his career, apart from being on Souths 2014 Gf winning team & sitting out large chunks due to stupidity (stood down for DV, broken eye socket for squaring up to Curtis Scott but not defending himself) & injuries.
12. Samuela Fainu - the Fainu family showed zero loyalty to Manly once Manase was found guilty. To me, that's symptomatic of a problem personality. Add Latu & you have them backing each other up when things don't go their way.
13. Curtis Sironen - was pretty unimpressive in his time here IMO, * had to go to ESL as no other clubs wanted him, so no great loss.
14. Jamie Humphreys OR Sam Verrills - Verrills came through our junior system but wanted out of Manly after his older brother took his own life. Humprehys is yet to be proven & was surplus to DCE & Brooks.
15. Terrel May - he was at BWSE & never showed much while there.
16. Sione Fainu - see Samuela
17. Karl Lawton - only started showing promise this season, was prone to injury for most of his time here.

Good luck to the kid he was well back in the pack for the EaglesThe Cowboys have announced the signing of outside back Jaxson Paulo, who will join his fourth different team in as many seasons.
With Val Holmes heading to the Dragons and Kyle Feldt Super League-bound, the Cowboys needed backline depth.
Paulo signed a three-year deal to join Manly from 2024, but only played in eight games for the Sea Eagles this past season before being given permission to leave two years before the end of his deal.
