DCE was in shock

Don't worry, Sutton did a great job as far as the NRL are concerned.

He'll be announced as the Grand Final referee in just over a week.
Don’t worry, just to stick it to all NRL fans, head cock head Sutton will appoint both his drop kick brothers to the GF.

I watched this whole thing and barely commented here or anywhere else.

I watched Des at the presser.

I watched the replay. I dont think I have ever watched a replay of a match Manly lost.

I sill had a feeling of being "dudded". So for some perspective I thought I will head over to "The Kennel" and surely see them rejoicing in our demise. Surprise, surprise I read the following typical quotes,

"All of my mates go for manly and I hate them but wow Souths bias from the refs was disgusting. What a joke a bloke gets 10 in the bin for a shirt grab. Sutton is a joke" from Daustin.

"man what makes it worse is that if Gagai didn't take a massive dive, nobody would have notice" from Howard Moon

"It was the only thing of value to souffs he did all night. Him, Lowe, Burgess and Sutton all pretty much got owned all night, yet, off they trot to a prelim final"
from Neil Peart.

"Refs really fkd this game and manly lol, so much penalties for south’s and some questionable Sutton ref stuff as usual
Hope hasler blows up in the presser lol' from Nano.

"EAD Des' from off-tap Robbie

Now after all that i still feel , well "dudded".

Wont be watching another game of NRL until March 2020.

Look, the fact is that the clock did beat DCE with that drop out so arguing that it shouldn't be a penalty is a bit pointless because it should have been. But the reality is that ever since the scrum and drop out clocks were introduced, how often do we hear the clock go off and then 2-5 seconds later the scrum is fed or the drop out is taken....and there is no penalty called for a clock violation?

Yet suddenly its a penalty with a minute to go in a Semi Final?

As said, technically it was a penalty. It was the right call. But again the consistency from the NRL referees is almost non-existent.
Was it me or when Reynolds was taking the kick he had a look on his face that said we don’t deserve to win this game.

Souths got away with:

- taking out kick chasers
- climbing back over the ruck instead of clearing the play the ball
- mid air tackles
- a second effort after the ref had called held
- at least one eye gouge
- plenty of offsides

And yet the penalty count was 9-3.

To say nothing of all the knock on calls that went against us...

Joke.

'What eye gouge?' Mr Sutton :tmi::lipssealed:

Parker taken out by Burgess when we were going for a try. Where was the sin bin and penalty. It was a massive rort perpetrated by Greenc**t to keep the nrl favourites alive and fuk over the team they want to ditch.
I'd forgotten about that one. Burgess tried to take his head off and the ball was miles away. But not even a penalty, the commentators go silent and not a single replay...
Wtf?

No Manly = Bye Bye Footy for another 5 months. Couldn't give a flying **** which script the NRL orchestrates from here. We were all over them, they were our bitches until the refs ****ed Jake right up the ass, the cleanest ****ing player in the NRL.

I am done for the season.

If we were given a fair shake in that game and lost it on our own merits, I'd continue to watch the rest of the finals series.

A loss fair and square I an accept. But that bulls*it last night I won't accept.

These dopes don't get ny patronage while they serve up officiating like that.

I reckon you are right, he will be the No1 ref

So I ask again the question that I asked an hour before last nights game started, it was the only thing that had me nervous.....

"....for tonight, the No1 Mr Fixit has been appointed the No2 game.....why?."

Now I realise that Greenturd was preemptive in saying that consistency was overrated because he knew most of the refs are crap. Or perhaps better still, to be perceived that way to be able to complete his scripted outcomes.

DCE and Jake and later Des in his presser had every right to blow up deluxe about that call.

At worst it was a penalty. But definitely not a sin-bin.

Shock horror though the NRL have come out and fully backed their #1 match fixer Sutton over it.

At the end of the day, I don't wanna support a team that blames the referees when they don't win. You win some, you lose some and part of winning is doing enough to win the game in spite of what the referees decide to do.

We lost.

However, we lost having a red hot crack, with a heap of injuries and a ton of spirit. We hurt the opposition with bruising defence and only lost the game when down to 12 men. Our reads on the edges exposed the lack of continuity with our two starting backrowers for most of the season, out injured.

We have nothing to be ashamed of. Every year 15 teams miss out on the big prize. Therefore, winning cannot be everything, because you'll never attain it consistently. You have to hang your hat on something bigger and that is club spirit and culture. We have loads of it again and that is all that matters.

Well done to all the Manly fans that turned up last night, we were louder than the Vermin supporters! An extra hand for those who stuck around in spite of the disappointment to cheer the boys off after a great season.

He barely touched him end of so what he put his hands on him hes in front of him and hes trying to get past him then there legs connected by accident.. thats not a sin bin.... in a final no fing way! Cost us the game and our season and was a rubbish call

How bout you mention the calls that shat on us? Or do you agree with suttons reffing?
Parker gets taken out
Souths 2 knock ons yet its play on
Dce bs crusher tackle
Cook forward pass for there 1st try
Offside all night
Only 3 penalties conceded in 80 minutes while we were pumping them all game
The bs penalty to march them up the field for 1st try?

How bout I mention everything else? Because OP was discussing the jake sin bin.

Jake clearly pulls him back and collects his legs. How can you argue no intent when a player pulls the jersey of a support player?

If it were turbo being dragged down by a Roosters player in a grand final with 5 mins to go you'd be blowing up deluxe.

Open both eyes.

Would usually agree with your sentiments in doing enough to take refs out of the equation....but that game was a different level of “unfortunate “ calls....I mean Des is a competitor but very, very fair ....and he was uncontrollable with rage as EVERY call basically fell their way....agree with the rest of your post about a great season.
