It's a results driven business.

Haven't we just gone from strength to strength since we sacked Tooves. Who wants to play in Grand Finals anyway... Clearly not Scott Penn.

That result tonight is more shocking than a lot of fans would want to accept and face. It cemented our mediocrity. It cemented our 10 year struggle for $hit. Give me Bellamy and Rodski. Give me Politis and his economic contacts…. Or just hand your licence to the Bears.

As much as I love to razz Bozo, he is actually on the ball with this. Our standards have slipped so far, and it is so un-Manly like based on my life experience… I’m done. How can I go on supporting this? We joke about Parra and their drought, but IMO, we are heading in the same direction… but, we don’t even have pokies to prop us up. This club is f* barring some miracle.

I like to think that this is the reason Woodsie is no longer with us. I hope to join him in some after-life Manly world of unicorns and peace. 😂

And you look say we finish 8th plays dogs week 1 and get belted

Penn and co will say pass on the season for the making the 8

I am still shocked and is one of the worse performances I have seen from a manly side in many years

Disgusted. I really thought we had turned a corner after a decade of mediocrity and heartache. No. Gough’s performance aside, that was putrid. I’ve lost motivation to bother supporting this garbage anymore. Broke my heart last night with that performance against triple wooden spooners and so much to play for

It’s tough waking up for work today that’s for sure. Always felt we’d drop one game coming in. Never saw this one as being it really. Have a feeling a few results this weekend may go our way, but top 4 we now will not be. Win the next two and hopefully a home final.

Just had our 6am pre start at work, talk about a pile on, even the boss was throwing barbs.
I love good banter but they had me this morning as I had nothing to fire back, absolutely nothing. Just pulled my Manly beanie down over my eyes and waited for the humiliation to end.

I've taken a week off work to watch my granddaughter play in an under 12 softball carnival otherwise I'd be copping it too.......if you thought football fans were passionate you ought to see an under 12 softball crowd FMD.

I agree that last night was not The Manly Way and way below our Legendary clubs Benchmarks Premiership winning standards

Mr Penn Provided us a Superior team on Paper that included the Two Leaders from NSW and QLD The Great Match Winner in Turbo among a back line of superior speed and a huge forward pack
and Mr Seibold could not take advantage of this Superiority and win against the bottom of the table Toothless tigers team .

Never question your love and passion for our Legendary Manly club
Only question those that fail to live up to our Legendry clubs premiership winning standards

NRL FOX Summary .......

Upset of the year?! Tigers stun triple-binned Manly, Brooks battles at Leichhardt: What we learned

The Wests Tigers know all too well what it’s like to play a man down this season, but for once they got to play against 12 men not once, not twice, but thrice after Manly’s Ethan Bullemor, Haumole Olakau’atu and Corey Waddell were sent to the sin bin in one of the wildest games of the year.

The 30 minutes of pain proved too much for Manly to overcome after they blew a big lead to lose 34-26 and effectively cost themselves any chance of a top-four finish as their opponents went a long way to avoiding a third-straight wooden spoon.
Referee Peter Gough laid down the law early on with the visitors penalised six times in the first half, with Bullemor paying the price for laying in the tackle too long and marched four minutes before the break.

As he ran back onto the field, Olakau’atu ran past him up the tunnel after the edge forward was sent to the sin bin for a high shot on Heath Mason that divided opinion on social media and led to an Alex Seyfarth try at the other end.

Things then got plain weird when Corey Waddell was sent to the sin for a high shot on Solomon Alaimalo even though it looked like Taniela Paseka had done the most damage with a high shot.

Even the game’s friendliest man couldn’t escape the whistle with Jake Trbojevic penalised for a dangerous tackle which was so textbook perfect that it could win hit of the week.

“You have to give the Tigers credit. We were outplayed and our discipline let us down,” Anthony Seibold said.

“We started really well, we made some fundamental errors. I can handle the errors at the end of the game because we were chasing the game. But we got what we deserved.”
Here are the biggest talking points out of the match.

HORROR RETURN

While schools across the state celebrated book week, it was boo night at Leichhardt as a raucous crowd of 11,520 gave it to Luke Brooks from the moment he ran out for warm-ups all the way through to the final whistle.

Brooks used to cop it when he was wearing a Tigers jersey so it came as no surprise that the Sea Eagles five-eighth was on the receiving end of relentless jeers in his first game back at the eighth wonder of the world.

The crowd gave it to him when his name was read out before the game while they absolutely loved it when the ball squirted out of his hands in the first half and then when he sent a kick sailing out on the full.

Brooks will likely end his finals drought in a few weeks, but this was not the homecoming he had hoped for with the veteran having as many missed tackles as runs.
PUT AWAY THE SPOON

The Tigers faithful haven’t had much to cheer about for a decade, but you would have thought that they’d won the comp when Samuela Fainu crashed over in the final minute.

After one of the wildest games of the year, they are now level with the Eels on 16 points and have the bye next week before they host Parramatta in the final round.

If they win that one then they will avoid the spoon and take some momentum into 2025 when things should improve with Jarome Luai steering the team around.

It looked like they’d concede 50 when Manly’s back three all scored in the opening 22 minutes, but skipper Api Koroisau sparked them into life with a solo effort as they scored five tries in a row to hit the lead.

But things are never easy as Tom Trbojevic grabbed two quick tries to complete his hat-trick, with the fullback and Jason Saab both coughing up the ball in the final few minutes as Manly threatened a ridiculous comeback.

“My hair is falling out,” Benji Marshall said, 24 hours after he was inducted into the Hall of Fame.

“The way we started, we had good intent, we just missed our mark defensively. But I felt like we were still on top.

“After Api scored, it gave us some confidence and momentum, and from there on, we were pretty solid.

“They’re a great side, the strike they have in their team, they’re pushing for the top four, they’re tough to defend, and for us to fight to the death like that in front of our home crowed who have been amazing all year, I told them, ‘I’m so proud’.”
SIN BIN CENTRAL

The Sea Eagles copped three sin bins but none more controversial than backrower Haumole Olakau’atu’s dismissal in the 46th minute.

Manly were ahead 18-16 when Olakau’atu’ was binned for a high shot on Tigers fullback Heath Mason.

“There’s direct contact to the head, moderate force (and) you actually come up into contact,” Referee Peter Gough said to the forward.

But Cooper Cooper Cronk wasn’t convinced.

“I don’t know if it is contact to the head. At first glance I thought it was contact to the shoulder. Yes it was aggressive,” Cronk said on Fox League’s coverage.

“Yes it was forceful but I’m not sure if this makes contact directly to the head.

“I think that’s shoulder on shoulder.”

Ethan Bullemor (professional foul) and Corey Waddell (high shot) were also binned and Manly coach Anthony Seibold conceded after the game that his side’s discipline was “poor”.

Look on the bright side, you have a whole new array of people in your life you can start ghosting.

And if they ever ask why, tell them nothing.

It’s been working for me for over six decades.
