David Fifita

You are now simply making **** up to justify your position….i never said anything about on field performance KPI s champ you did .i never said the contract was terminated because Fifita did not meet KPIs you did. In fact I think James hooper reported at the time politis pulled the contract because Fifita had expressed some doubts . The roosters side of the storey is that your buddy that you seem to have a hard on for was worried he couldn’t meet the roosters work ethic . No doubt Fifita has a different storey to tell. However it Now seems Des has had enough as well so I know who I believe .Feel free to move to the Gold Coast and support your man in reserve grade as he meets his KPIs and over the top wage.
I think I can read between the lines of what you’re trying to say, but you haven’t explained it very well.

You’re suggesting he was offered a contract by the Chooks and started having doubts about some of the expectations in the deal. When he informed the Roosters of his concerns, they realised the kind of player they were about to sign and believed they’d dodged a bullet. Had they learned of his concerns after the fact, they’d have been stuck with him on a big deal for many years.

Where I think you’ve confused people, is you made it sound like the Roosters had concerns but offered him a deal anyway and were relieved when he back flipped; that’s just stupid.

Anyway, you could be right. However, I believe he back flipped to stay with his girlfriend in QLD. I don’t think a professional footballer baulks at a few KPIs. Even if they fail to meet them, they are arrogant enough to believe they can.

If you’re hearing this story coming out of the Roosters, it’s probably the ‘she dumped me but I was going to break up with her anyway’ excuse.

Good post, can we drop the whole KPI argument now? It was painfully uninteresting and went on way too long.

I find it interesting that the roosters can go and instantly get rid of players to get more eg Spencer, Smith and Young. The NRL need to watch this as it just sounds so dodgy. Maybe we need to do this with a back like Koula etc and bring in a gun forward?
I read recently that the chooks club own 100 mill in real estate and currently return 5 mill in income annualy from rent and operate on 50 mill per year

To move players on you need tp pay people out

Our owner had skivvy and snake on the books for 18 months because they didnt want to pay player above the cap

Our attitude and cash supplies dictate we are not able to move players on as readily as clubs that place winning against the book balancing act

The moment we move Koula on he will explode into the attacking threat we know he can be. One of the best defensive centres in the game and still very young. I would persevere with him as I see him as a big part of our core group.
Absolutely, I reckon he will become a star for sure. dom Y, Smith, spencer etc, all players we would love to have, and they just sound like cast offs like Waddell etc. Different salary cap?

that's all supposed to be cap compliant.
(Our problem with Snake and Matai is they were busted but they weren't new injuries, they were long term ones, so we couldn't get medical retirement. Chooks moving on Smith and Young for example is a different situation anyway?)

The same pre existing rule didnt seem to apply to watmoughs knee so the tenacity of management or desire to spend , still may have been the difference.

At the time the grant was smaller and the penns were tipping in coin yearly from memory . Not sure of tming but manly challenging the NRL about the salary cap breach/everyone is doing it, was about the last time manly seemd to challenge anything

At some point i am sure the NRL stated manly just didnt apply, so stop crowing manly fans

Cap compliance ……LOL

bigger companies with bigger budgets and laws or rules
Come on man, you a laywer

Not sure if my timeline works but its interesting
