David Fifita

If the Titans foot half the bill it's a yes from me.

The problem is that we would really struggle in the halves without DCE for the rest of this year. Arthur doesn't have finals player energy to me and I'm not convinced that Brooks would lift as much as we'd need him to. God help us if Wakeham ends up being our starting 7 week in week out.
Half? What about 35?

Rumoured to be shopped around to rival clubs.

He’s very hot and cold, seems a bit lazy, but gee he can rip up a game when he’s on and win it on his own. He also wants to play left edge where we currently have a deficiency.

Cut price deal for the rest of 2025?

It’s a yes from me.
What's he on anyway, 1m. GC will need to come up with good bit of freight. Big chance of buyers remorse with Fifi.

Big no for me... Has a terrible work ethic. Exactly the wrong big-money player to bring to the club when you have DCE leaving, Turbo injured, and Jake maybe retiring. Unless Olakau'atu can convince him to put in from the other side of the field, massive no from me.

Ben Trbojevic isn't Olakau'atu, but he's not absolutely rubbish like some on here pretend. Whipping boy energy about him this year.

We need middles.
Mate sorry but it’s Fifita then daylight between he & Brbo. Solid player but not in the same realm as Fifita. He wants to play left side which is where we are missing strike! FMD Fifita & Olakau’atu would be a dream. Brbo to Lock….

You are correct ….but the way it played out was that the roosters made sure he backflipped with the KPI s they put in place and were happy with the result. If the roosters really want someone they don’t miss out.

Are you confident/sure about this, given he was within the cooling off period and secondly, if any KPI's were presented, they would have been part of the original HOA on which the standard NRL playing contract is then amended to reflect the individual player's contract terms.

If he, Fifita, signed a contract after reviewing the KPI's but you're saying that the Roosters were happy knowing that he "wouldn't be able to achieve those KPI's", why did they place those KPI's in the HOA in the first place?

It just doesn't make sense, it is a complete waste of time to produce such an outcome.

Counterproductive, if you will.

In this case, I believe that both Nick Politics and Trent Robinson were caught out by his change of mind, and there's nothing wrong with that either.

yep very sure …Roosters knew he wouldn’t achieve the KPI s because it was Fifita himself who was questioning them and was quite unsure whether he could meet them .Roosters don’t want players who won’t agree to work hard was how it was put to me.

If you were informed of that, fair enough, I'll take your word for it.

It makes zero sense to me, however, I've seen some crazy things come across my desk with respect to the NRL, NRL players (and their families), contracts and player demands/conditions [that] this Fifita/Roosters contract matter is on the more benign side of the ledger.

Please explain @Jimmie why the Roosters would utilise such a convoluted process? It seems almost nonsensical to me? The Roosters goal was to make it look like Fifita backflipped? When it was actually the other way round? Why didnt they just withdraw the contract, as it was within the cooling off period for both parties? I think your "source" is talking **** again.
