id happily take him if he is prepared to play some second row or maybe centre. on the wing, no.
id rather give tafua the wing spot or gutherson, and in a year or two tom trbojevic. need to concerntrate on youth. at cheap and for second row id take him though

Wrong approach Feathered friend Positions are not given they are earned .
Competition brings out the best in a team and the best will earn their place in our top side !!!

I can't understand all the negativity about Blair. I think he has done a good job every time he has played first grade. He's safe under the high ball, runs hard and does his share of 'hit ups'. There has been criticism of his defensive reads, and this may be true. However, I see wingers from every club getting caught out by rushing in, every match. It must be something that modern-day wingers are taught, so perhaps the criticism should be directed at the coaches.
Vidot, to me, is a winger like Jorge, helping out the forwards with ball in hand and extremely strong. But how much confidence would you have in each when the opposition targets them with bombs?
People on here are always at the extreme end of either spectrum

All off season people loved Blair and wanted him ahead of Gutherson and Tafua because he was big and strong now after some poor reads he is terrible and should never play for us again.

The truth has always been somewhere in the middle, Blair is a depth outside back, he should deservedly be behind Tafua and Gutherson but both are injured so he is getting a run.

He has a lot of positives to his game but does need to work on his defence (though, centres getting caught out often contribute to wingers looking silly)

Happy to have him as our 4th string winger

I just popped in, to find all these massive over reactions. Situation normal here then. More pork chops than Alice Brady's chest freezer.

And then, lo & behold, disco comes along & spoils it all.

true but he has potential. never meant give him the starting position but run him in the reggies at second row and give him a bench spot if he goes hard

Buy him, don't buy him, whatever. Is that our approach to recruiting these days ???? Do we have a plan to assemble a competitive team or do we just buy whoever comes available.

It's probably just a rumour started by his manager to generate interest...with Taufua in trouble, we are linked to a winger looking for a starting gig.

As for my opinion, well if you think Jorge was bad under the high ball...wait till you see Vidot. If you thought Hiku and Blair leak points...wait till you see Vidot.

The Dragons signed this guy for 3 years, and fought tooth and nail to make it work; he got a run in the centres, on the wing, off the bench as a forward. It didn't matter what they tried, he would make howling mistakes that cost the team points. It's no good making 165m if you cost the team 6-12 points because of constant mistakes every week.

My friend is a Dragons supporter and stated that there are entire threads on the St George League Unlimited forum dedicated to how disgruntled supporters were at this guy and his constant errors.

No we just do nothing. Absolutely nothing. It is the Joe Kelly way. Leadership at its best.

How do you some of you wake up in the morning? And isn't it blatantly obvious that he'd replace Taufua? 1 year contract and if he performs, he gets an upgrade. Seems simple enough to me. We've got nothing to lose.

^ We've got $100K to lose, if that's the salary he's given, and little to no need for another winger, even without Jorge. We're probably better off spending the money elsewhere.

He can play in the backs and in the forwards .

Daniel Vidot = T-Rex.....just without the need to have Foz screaming in his ear every set to run.

Rocks and diamonds though. Could be ok I guess and can play in the forwards or three-quarters, though like T-Rex I think he'll end up permanently in the forwards. Has Choc syndrome - prone to making mistakes at crucial times, usually thanks to bad handling. Bit of a hot head at times too. One of those who its 50/50 whether he'll spend time in the bin for throwing a punch.

Honestly though I think we're better served looking for a quality half or 5/8 with a good kicking game who can also kick goals. Wingers and centres we have....Killer, Skivy, Peta, Cheyse, Wolf, Jorge, Gutho, and probably Tom T, though Tom will most likely end up as our fullback when Snake retires. We are going to lose our international halves combination (how the :swear: the club stuff that up????). Plain and simple we need at least one quality replacement.

Congratulations on the plan B Joe preside over two international class halves leaving the club and get right back in the market and making a statement by signing a winger. This guy has to be a South Sydney plant surely you could not orchestrate this rubbish. I'm starting to believe Joe's plan B is a wooded spoon in the next 3 years and he is well on his way with some of the trash we are being linked to.

I've been thinking this myself lately. Everything Kelly has touched at Manly has so far turned to mud. Wouldn't surprise me if he negotiated for a perfect pitch on Brookie last Friday night such was the state of the ground.

Let us judge Kelly on the solutions to our problems and not the existing Brookvale oval state and our clubs financial state . Time will tell :)

True Bozo, but so far his batting average is making Bob Uecker look good (Uecker batted .200 in his major league career).

Or should that be he's making Bob Holland look like a good test batsman (fans from the 1980's might remember him. Grey haired NSW leggie who made his test debut at age 38 (1984) and holds the world record with five ducks in a row).
