Crowd figures

I know the drummer personally. He's gone into drumming retirement, mainly because the usual drunk wankers were getting a bit too much. Seems to be getting worse on the hill now that everyone doesn't seem to be that focused on the game

The drummer couldn't hold a beat anyway, what a wanker.

I was staggered the crowd was supposedly only 11,000 today - it certainly looked a whole lot more...as usual 😱 Considering it was Killer's farewell and it was so heavily promoted, as well as it being a beautiful afternoon, that figure is abysmal! 🙁
The bean counters need to go back to school :giggle:

I was there, no I don't think it was. Plenty of space on the hill. Poor turn out for Killer, he deserved a packed house, only true supporters turned up @;)

An explanation was given on why the crowd is always posted as low by a silvertail last week.
Something about the nrl gets a % of the attendance $ so post it low and give em less.
They've been doing it for years.

Brookie looked packed for yesterday's game. On tv it looked like it was around 15,000, perhaps more.

Anyone know the crowd figure?

Sunday arvo on the Northern Beaches plus a team in good form makes it right for good crowds.

Must be helping the clubs bottom line aswell.

It irks me that sections of the Hill are cordoned off, supposedly for 'safety' reasons. I have been sitting on the Hill at Manly matches for more than 50 years now - even in crowds of 27,000, and I can't remember a serious incident that brought the need for such 'safety' measures. Yesterday was a pleasant experience in the sunshine. It wasn't overly crowded, but would have been even more comfortable had we'd been able to spread out into the cordoned off areas.
I think we should nudge 16,000 when we play Easts, if the weather is fine. It's hard to believe that we used to get crowds of 25,000-plus at Brookie. Then again, that was before Australia became a Nanny State.

Yeh whats up with those grass patches that are fenced up on the hill, its ridiculous. Has it been put up in recent years. Its annoying to look at on tv

27,655 vs the Faecals in '86. I was there.

I guess people just learned to count more accurately?!

The vacant grass strips were brought in after we got 20,500 against Souths about four years ago. As with lots of aspects of today's society it's risk compliance overkill.

It's for Public Liability Insurance compliance.

Nowdays people litigate endlessly 😎

Brookie Hill was reduced by a good third when the Southetn Stand was built. We used to enter through a tunnel under it last century

Warning: Ref abuse

I was at Stadium Brookvalia for six of those games: '86, 94, 95, 87, 83, 82. Plus a few more 20k+ games, like Parra in '79 (20,507). That was the first time the southern stand was (unofficially) open.
