I must admit, of all the scum down here in Melbourne, Cronk was one who i genuinely admired too.

End of the day, he makes most teams better, and generally always wins. I respect that he headed to the Roosters and proved that he had what it took to do it with anotehr team.

Obviously he a salary cap cheat etc - they all are in the Storm and Roosters.

But finances aside, he can bloody well play football.

And (someone correct me) I don't think he ever got done for Domestic Violence, Drug or Alcohol related offences either?

I've always liked him as a player and a bloke (although I don't know him personally). I think he will make an insightful commentator and undo some of the stigma ex-players like Thurston, Lockyer and Johns have given the 'profession' in recent years.
I think it is a pity he sold out to play with Easts. If he wanted to leave Melbourne he should have gone to a struggling club and provided inspiration to them rather than seeking personal glory.
