Take another look at the disallowed try due to Saab’s forward pass.

Dce does an amazing pass that Saab runs on to and makes the break.

Inside him Reuben is held back by cotter (I think) grabbing his jersey. So that means Garrick is not available to receive a simpler pass from Saab. The absence of Garrick means Saab needed to push a longer and more difficult pass, which drifted forward.

Manly should have got a penalty.
I agree. This was absolutely a penalty to Manly. Against Souths in the 2019 semi Jake Turbo was sent to the bin for something similar to this and it cost us the game. No penalty at all.

Also in the second half before the cows second try I thought Talau was stripped but the bunker didnt even look at it.

Not sure how you know that the Bunker didn’t even look at it,were you in there? But the Bunker do not rule on such matters nowadays anyway, unless there’s a captain’s challenge or it’s a try scoring situation

Turbo has just come back from yet another extended lay off. I would have been very surprised if he had played a strong game. He's got to get his confidence and game fitness back and that may take a few outings. He needs the game time but he also needs to pace himself. He knows his body best. Let him gradually get back into the swing of it. He admitted to being exhausted at one stage of the game. To push too hard under those circumstances is to invite further injury. He's played centre in SOO and been very effective. Patience is required....seems I say that a lot.

As we were out last night at the Speedway ( a real hoot ) and not home until late I watched the game this morning in replay.

Obviously always different when you know the result , but it’s also interesting as to how you view player performances.

I see Garrick was caned in the comments I read before viewing, one stupid pass ( I agree ) but overall I thought he did pretty well.

That was a DCE master class last night , yes maybe not 10/10 but certainly 9.5 out of 10.

That block by Jurbo probably won us the match.

Tom should have had another week off he was a shadow of his former self out there.

Koula looks at home at 1.

Nathan Brown , I tip my hat to you , that was AWSOME.

Tommy Talau , was lamblasted when we signed him but has been, and was again , terrific.

I do think we are missing big Paseka as the middles weren’t that effective, except for Bully when he came off the bench , he was great.

Not a pretty game , but I never expected it to be easy up there and let’s face it , 2 points is 2 points.
Agreed. I was out and watched the replay this morning. Wow glad I did , my heart wouldn't be coping with that again. The Saab penalty and disallowed try to Garrick was the usual bunker clown farce. Then same thing happened to Taulau and nothing. Was a brave effort. Clunky 2nd half nearly cost us but that was a bonus 2 points we desperately needed. Great effort Manly they really are putting in the last month. Surely we're due for comfortable win at home.
P.S Fu*koff Madge do NOT pick Turbo. He's not ready for Origin. Pick Best so he's not playing next week.

Much better defense, but again Manly races ahead and then goes to sleep allowing the other side to catch up. Its the old Tortoise-Hare scenario. Have never seen a side to consistently follow this pattern over and over.
Come on Bear, we've been screaming out all year for this team to be consistent @:D And I would argue last night was more a Tortoise - No hair scenario. I know I lost more!

The main thing I took out of this comment is the “might” in previous years there wasn’t a question about what type of performances we were going to be bringing. I think Siebold has served his purpose in bringing our great club forward from the training in demountable days but I do think we will need to source a winning edge before the premiership eventually finds its way back home. Always happy to be proven wrong though, for today I’ll take the win. Manly forever
I'm not talking premierships but I would like to see us string a few wins together instead of one step forward and two back, we've got the squad to do better and with more consistency but we continue to let ourselves down

Hate to quote myself, it isn’t ego…. But seriously?.. really? Has anybody ever seen a pass soooo far in front of a runner? I personally haven’t.
So I just finished watching the replay and yep, it was a great pass. Particularly coz it looked off the cuff once one of the defenders rushed up. Given that, I would also give Saab some credit for being aware and running onto it so well.
We were certainly lucky the Cows blew a couple of tries but we were also unlucky with a couple. The Cows had a a lot of ball and field position and given the humidity and our less mobile pack, I thought we did a pretty good job scrambling in defence coz we were under the pump a lot from quick play the balls and offloads
But a couple of other notable moments:
. Talau's initial hit on Nanai and then one on one steal was brilliant
. bad missed tackle from Guac for the 2nd try but he pulled off some big tackles throughout the game so I can forgive him that one - coz we won @:D
. it was a BS penalty to the Cows after their 2nd try that got them down the field for their 3rd try. It gave them more of a roll on. Unfortunately, Talau hesitated enough on Feldt coz he didn't have faith in Turbo to take Nanai but he had him covered.
. Both of Garrick's flick passes were certainly low % but if they had have come off (particularly the 1st one) he would have looked a genius. The 2nd one just wasn't needed at that time.
. as a couple have mentioned, the Garrick no try from Saab's leap when compared to Talua's catch was ridiculous.
. Jakes charge down of course but the BIGGEST moment for me was the tackle that Aloiai and Garrick made on Finefeuiaki with 30 seconds to go. Particularly given Aloiai had slipped over the tackle before and then raced back into position for that tackle. It was a match saving effort from both of them.
