I don't see how Lehi Hopoate offers us anything from the bench, as he is a specialist fullback only. I would have Talau on the bench for his versatility, as he can cover fullback/centre/winger/five-eight. I would also like to see Talau playing a similar role to D Walker and come on after 20 minutes to give us a real point of difference in the middle. Seibold could rotate Aloiai and Sipley simultaneously, with Jake going to prop, Bullemor to prop and Talau to lock. Nathan Brown to come on after 30 minutes to replace Jake, who gets spelled for 10-15 minutes either side of half-time. Lawton replaces Simpkin after 50 minutes, Talau is swapped out for Jake at the fifteen-minute mark of the second half, followed by Sipley and Aloiai returning for the last 20 minutes, replacing Brown and Bullemore
Not that I would play him there but....was Lehi not a centre until fairly recently? I mean he pretty much covers 1 - 5 / can fit in with the others that are there

It would not shock me if Turbo was given a spell at somepoint in the game

Some word going around that Turbo is playing right centre, Garrick to the left.

Doesn’t Ben play on the left? Wouldn’t it make more sense to have them play together 🤷‍♂️

The only thing it makes sense for me is to move Garrick further left and bring Talua in one 🤔.

Though quite a shuffle in moving two players.

Fair call @lsz I didn't know he had also played a few games as a centre in NSW Cup. However, regarding NRL experience, Talau has obviously covered more positions. Talau at 94kg also has the bodyweight to be potentially considered as a mobile backrower. I guess I am trying to find a way to increase the depth at backrow/lock in our squad, with a quality player from within the group.

Honestly looking at the back 5 they can all pretty much play anywhere apart from Saab who is a the only one without a clear secondary position (Tolo, Rub and Turbo as full backs as an example)

Makes sense to me, Turbo has played outside of DCE in internationals previously, and has of course played right centre in Origin. What doesn't make sense to me is moving Garrick to left... Centre. Not sure if it would do much good for his defensive reads at centre, but given less traffic has gone down that edge this year, and Brooks and Talau have likely better defensive reads than Saab and DCE, it might work out.

Or, as Seibold has been loving to do lately, a late change might occur bringing Garrick to left wing, and Talau to left centre. As I have been calling for. Would love if he did this, but unfortunately I don't think it's likely.

Just got a feeling if Garrick is out Faulalo makes his debut this week. I'm thinking they might ease Turbo into centre. There has to be a reason we have a back on the bench and 18th man.

Rubes doesn't give the impression in his interview, that he's not playing. But I spose he could be a good actor. Some might say he's acting as a centre but I wouldn't be that harsh @:D

Agree, the Injury Report is conspicuous by its absence. Begs the questions - is Garrick fully fit? What's happening with Croker? Why Waddell's missing from all team lists (assume he succumbed to his ankle injury)?
For what it's worth, I just found the Injury Report on the SE website. Not that it's overly informative but confirms my assumption about Waddell.

"Corey Waddell is out this week for the Cowboys game with an ankle injury.

Taniela Paseka (Rd 15 vs Dragons) has undergone successful repair surgery and has returned to field based running. He is expected to be fit to play in a number of weeks.

Lachlan Croker (Rd 9 vs Canberra) continues to progress in team training following an associated neck injury from the original concussion.

Matthew Lodge (Rd 11 vs Brisbane) is progressing his reconditioning running and upper body strength following bicep surgery. He remains on track to return to play 12 weeks post surgery.

Jake Arthur suffered a stress fracture in his left foot and underwent successful surgery to stabilise this last week. He will remain in a boot for the coming weeks and is expected to be sidelined for four months.

Aaron Woods is progressing with his on field rehab running following a calf injury. He is expected to return to team training shortly as his injury continues to improve."

Would be great if we jagged a win up there in North Qld...but if this doesn't work out, how about we start our winning run against the Noughts at Brookie the following weekend instead.
Just sayin'...
Not so sure mate... prob have Lawton/talau in the halves again 🙄

Personally, I’ll be bowled over if we win tonight. The Cowboys have started stringing wins together and have a fantastic roster. It’s on their home soil. We’ve had no continuity of late, due to injuries and rep football. It’s going to take a hell of a performance to pull this off.

I suspect we lose comfortably and believe we will miss the finals again this year.

I apologise in advance for the glass half empty and not trying to dig the boot into our team, just giving my thoughts on how I see it playing out.

Anyway I'm going for a Sea Eagles win tonight, and also we make the 8.
Will be interesting to see if our backline is a rabble after all the changes.
I'm banking on a big re-set after the bye and coming out all guns blazing, like the attitude from the start of the year.
Will be a tough game though, all those Cow Origin players have something to prove.
