Jake Trbojevic is set to be ruled out of the May 28 State of Origin series opener at Suncorp Stadium after suffering a Category 1 head knock while playing for Manly against North Queensland.

He was attempting to tackle Cowboys winger Murray Taulagi and slumped to the ground after a head clash, with team-mates - including brothers Tom and Ben - showing concern for the inspirational forward.

The NRL's mandatory 11-day stand down for concussions applies to State of Origin.

Deardon showed he'd be a better 14 than 7 for Qld. The cows are much better with him at 6. The switch of Purdue to 6 didn't work for them.

The second half was much better, but it's the stupid sh1t that allows teams back into the game thats the most frustrating. The team showed some guts tonight. It was also helped by the Cows being really poor.

Any win away from Brookie is a good win.
