Talk of Bani move just ‘speculation’

MANLY CEO Grant Mayer has hosed down talk that Sea Eagles’ winger Michael Bani is set to walk out on the premiers.

Reports on Thursday suggested that the Torres Strait Islander flyer was on his way to Townsville in a straight swap for Cowboys’ utility Ben Farrar.

It is believed Farrar was mooted as a short-term replacement for Brett Stewart, whose knee injury is expected to sideline him until at least August.

“It is pure speculation and we will leave it at that,” Mayer said.

Cowboys CEO Peter Parr added: “It could be a possibility - it has been discussed but not in detail.”
