Could injuries force that FAST back??

Dylan Walker should be back - tick
With Tom T gone
Taufua out
Does Wright or Anderson get consideration??
Yes Matt Wright has experience and will get the Auto swap, but would it be exciting with the possibility of a new match winner with another speedster in the backline ??

They have the speed and the talent . I say give them the endorsement and the confidence to spread their wings and fly like eagles .

Mostly all of want to see our young guys debut and excite us mate.
I most certainly do!

BUT?

Are WE going to pay the price if one of these possibly very good young guys cost us 2 points in what is a very professional comp these days?

Of course not.

The ones who would cop the blunt end of the stick think these guys are not good enough to risk the house on. And realistically, together with our proud heritage, that's what is at stake.

Sorry for those that disagree with this approach but they are not the ones putting their careers and their families future's on the line by selecting these ROOKIES.
I most certainly would not!

There are no Phil Blake's amongst them and the backup we have WILL be a far better option to do the job we need done under the circumstances.

The odds of any of these guys being match-winners early on are only for longshot gamblers, not for professional people doing their job and feeding their families.

IMHO, NONE of these guys mentioned are even close to good enough to make a debut for us right now. There are 20 or so guys like them in the whole system, they are junior grade standouts, good ones, but nothing more.
I am certainly not willing to put my heart in the hands of untried maybees when we are under such constriction from the NRL and a ferociously vindictive media..

FG stars rarely come from being a hands-down reggies standout, they are bred. AFB and Api for current examples.

Phil Blake was 36 years ago. Yes, that long, I was there watching.

Regardless of our passion and desires, right now, more than most times in the past, we need to consolidate and show everyone we can do it tough and smart.

Rally behind or team...the players, the club and the ones who make the decisions we don't have to pay for.

Like we always have.

What you also have to look at is who their opponents will be this week.

Is Tom Wright ready to step up and potentially take on someone like Konrad Hurrell or Anthony Don?

Either way I think its a moot point right now. Personally I'm expecting to see the team later today to show Matty Wright at FB, Parker on the wing and Dylan Walker named to return to the centres.

I think Baz will pick a returning Walker over Tom Wright or Jade Anderson.

And is Moses Suli an option?

I've said in another thread that if Walker is back I'd bring Winterstien and Gosieski in for Sirro and Tanginoa and try B Kelly at fullback, who looks to have good speed and footwork. He also runs the ball back hard. Worth a go IMO and if it doesn't work you could shift him back into centre with Parker to wing and M Wright to fullback.

Barratt debuted Kelly at the age of 19.
Barratt debuted Parker at the age of 19.
Barratt gave Croker full responsibility of 5/8 at the age of 20.

Ergo ... Barratt has no problem with Tom Wright's age .... maybe ... just maybe ... there is a reason for Barratt delaying his debut .... such as he may not be mentally ready yet.

In this one ... I will trust Baz to know when the time is (W)right.

Barrett has been pretty conservative in his selections, I fully expect him to pick the team he thinks will keep the team stable. M Wright to FB, winterstien in for Siro, and Lussick in for Kelepi plus walker back and parker to the wing. If Walker's not ready then I'd imagine Parker to stay at centre and maybe then Tom Wright to wing.

I think every forum from every club thinks there coach is conservative with selections, because every forum, for every club gets highly emotional and demands players get sacked after one bad performance whilst also getting swept up in the performance of every young Groom, Stromquist, Hynes, Garner etc etc etc

Barrett has given chances to youngsters and will do so again when the timing is right. Barrett also see's this guys perform all week for about 40 weeks of the year, not just 24 games...........I reckon we trust his judgement
