Did you go to the game?

Can you give us a bit of a match report?

Good news. This team just needs a bit of time to adjust & they'll be really strong. The first graders will know they're under pressure.
Ben Shorter & Blake Davey will be good in firsts if they can tighten their defence up a bit. They certainly have the talent.

Got it off twitter.

But apparently they have been improving week to week.

Reminds me of the 2008 U20s team and we know the machine they turned out to be in 2009

1st Minute: underway here at Leichhardt in fine conditions although the breeze has just picked up and is keeping things cool. It is a gusty swirling breeze that is blowing more across the park but it will slightly favour the Sea Eagles in the first forty. The receive it from the kick off and set off down field.

3rd Minute: TRY The Sea Eagles look good early and are gifted a full set of six after Mark Hendy drops a fairly simple ball inside his own 20. From the resulting scrum Manly shift it to the right and simply put it through the hands and Shorter does well to ground it in the far corner. Shorter now leads the comp in the tryscoring stakes, not bad for a winger in the 10th placed team. Blanch can't convert and it is 4-0 early.

5th Minute: TRY WOW! Wenty have barely touched the ball and Manly are over again. Seu Seu makes a break up the middle of the ruck and passes to Foran who is one on one against the fullback and has anyone of three Sea Eagles looming up in support, he picks out Daniel Harrison who races clear to score. Blanch converts and it is 10-0.

8th Minute: Wenty will be happy, they just completed their first set of six of the match as Mortimer clears the ball deep downtown on the last. Despite their bad start the Magpies will know Manly can also switch of at times and they need to limit the damage early.

13th Minute: TRY Manly are harping back to the old NBA Jam days on SEGA MEGA DRIVE... "THEY ARE ON FIREEEEEE!!!!" They split Wenty again and Blanch sets off downfield on a searching run, turns the fullback inside out and hands it off to Blake Davey who then wins the race to the corner. Blanch slots it from the touchline and Manly are beating the clock at the moment. Manly 16 Wenty 0.

18th Minute: Manly nearly scored again as it took 3 and 4 Wenty defenders to eventually hold up Seu Seu, unfortunately from the resulting play they shifted it to the left and the final pass went behind Ala and into touch 10m out. Wenty hanging on... JUST!

22nd Minute: Carl Webb pops his head through the line and offloads to Mortimer who loomed up in support and puts the foot down but is quickly rounded up by a host of Manly defenders... There was not one other Wenty jersey within 15m of Morts.. Not good signs for Wenty, they look flat. If they tuned up here today expecting to just take the two points they are in for a rude shock it would appear.

25th Minute: just when it looked like the Magpies would get their first points of the day through Hendy in the corner, Manly somehow force him into an error as he attempted to ground it. Outstanding commitment by the Eagles, where has this been all year??

28th Minute: as good as Manly have been, they are starting to invite Wenty back into the match with some simple errors such as forward passes and incorrect play the balls. It hasn't cost them yet but Wenty are starting to look more likely. Webb and Manuokafoa are going gang-busters for Wenty up front, they just need some troops to go with them.

32nd Minute: Manly must be very careful in the lead up to halftime, Wenty have definitely had the run of play in the last 10 mins or so and appear to be the most likely to score in the lead up to the break. There would be a big difference between 16-0 & 16-6 considering how good Manly have been for the most part.

35th Minute: Both sides lacking some polish particularly on the last tackle at the moment with some ordinary options being taken by both sides. After a scorching start neither side has looked to dangerous in the past 15 minutes or so.

38th Minute: TRY Wenty will be relieved as they have salvaged something from the wreck so to speak courtesy of a Karl Filiga try. Matt Ryan was denied by millimeters a tackle or two earlier and then Savage was also held up but a 5th tackle cross field kick was fielded by Wenty and then after a serious of offloads the ball finally found an unmarked Filiga who strolls over for one of the easiest tries he will ever score. Humble converts and it is now Manly 16 Wenty 6.

Half Time Manly were insatiable early on and perhaps the scoreboard flatters the Magpies somewhat at the break. Game is definitely up for grabs in the second forty. Will be back soon with all the action...

41st Minute: Back underway here in the second half as Wenty have first use of the ball. They finish the set with a clearing kick from Mortimer. The halftime chats would have been interesting and no doubt both sides would be desperate to score first.

44th Minute: TRY BlakeDavey does really well down the shortest of short sides and gets the ball to a flying Sione Ala who does the rest. Blanch converts and Manly now lead Wenty 22-6.

48th Minute: all to do now for Wenty as they receive a penalty and will have a full set 25m out.

49th Minute: TRY Mortimer does it all himself and fires a rocket pass from his right to left and hits Hendy on the fly to score in the corner. Hendy will be relieved as he didn't have the best of first halves. Humble can't convert but it is a more manageable 12 pt deficit now. Manly 22 lead Wenty 10.

Half Time (NSW Cup) North Sydney Bears 10 lead Cronulla Sharks 6

53rd Minute: TRY RAZZLE DAZZLE Rugby League!!! Manly once again down the left side and Ala finds Riccardi who looked to have scored for your life but is ruled to have come up short but from the resulting play the ball Manly just had too many numbers with half the Wenty side not even back on the line and eventually Lodge just steps inside a tired defender to score. Ala takes over the kicking duties and it is now Manly 28 Wenty 10.

58th Minute: TRY Manly won't be losing now as Riccardi jumps out of dummy half and puts in a beautiful chip kick and Lodge wins the race and does really well to control it and then brush off the fullback to score under the posts. Blanch converts and they are doing the EAGLE ROCK as the scoreboards now reads 34-10 in Manly's favour.

62nd Minute: Wenty are trying hard but the cohesion is just not there. Mortimer is trying his heart out but things just aren't clicking today.

66th Minute: TRY another outstanding try to the Eagles. Riccardi has been brilliant today and he puts in another chip kick, this time angled towards the wing of Ala whos gets it, off loads to Foran who stretches out and scores in the corner. Blanch converts from the touchline. Manly 40 Wenty 10.

70th Minute: Ok I will be the one to ask the question "Who are these blokes in the Maroon jerseys and what have they done with Manly???" Fair dinkum, they are scoring at one end and scrambling like champions at the other... five star performance by the Sea Eagles today. Take a bow Manly fans.

74th Minute: was going to start talking about Manly's best today but in fairness they haven't had a bad player but Seu Seu, Riccardi, Blanch and the backrow of Harrison, Lodge and Jowett have been very very good.. while for Wenty their forwards have all toiled well but things have fallen down when the ball has been shifted late in the tackle count. Not sure what to make of their performance, maybe just put it down to a bad day at the office perhaps.

77th Minute: almost a consolation try for Wenty after some good lead up work by Humble but the final pass to an open Peletelese doesn't find its mark and that just about sums up their day.

80th Minute: TRY and as the siren sounds Blanch converts a Seu Seu try which once again came down the Wenty right hand side defence (some issues there for Brett Cook) as Davey lays it on a plate for Seu Seu. That's all she wrote for this one, Full Time Manly 46 def Wenty 10.

Full Time an amazing performance by the Manly Sea Eagles, like Might and Power they lead from start to finish. As already mentioned I guess you just have to forgive Wenty as they have been good of late, but not today unfortunately for their fans. Eagles coach Luke Williamson is chatting to the HHHfm guys and needless to say he is chuffed with the performance.

I've seen some good but mostly bad from them this year.

It's been up & down. They looked like world beaters against Melbnulla who were 3rd at the time & then got absolutely flogged by Norths & Newtown. I hope this is the turning of the corner. It's baffling to see a team that has the names in it that they do get belted.

For those (still) interested in our old feeder club Sunshine Coast Sea Eagles
they lost today.

Redcliffe 10 - SCSE 6.

They were down to just 15 players and most players are young. Dolphins are coming second.

Sounds like they finally remembered how to tackle. Well in lads, keep up the good work.

Do we play Norths again this year? It'd be good to see the boys get some revenge on those numpties.

I know Terry Terry is a first grader & all but I'm surprised to see him starting at hooker in front of Higgins.
Future of the club and all that.
