I think congratulations and recognition should go to the bargain buy pensioners many on here have labelled plodders ... Jazz Tevaga and Siua Taukei'aho ... they obviously have impressed over the preseason with their attitude, committment and performance ... exactly what is needed to put a rocket up the younger guys and lead by example.

Credit should also go to another bargain that some have labelled a nepo pick ... Waddell must be ticking the boxes as well.

Good to see effort being rewarded rather than the old pick and stick ... bodes well ... and puts aloai and Sipley on notice.

The duck is no star however he has a red hot go and thats all you can ask for a bloke on a base to low tier contract.

I hope you’re 100% correct. I’m not convinced at this stage.

Agree with Taukei'aho. I thought he was very good in both trials. Tevaga is a direct replacement for Lawton, similar type players / roles.

I can't agree on Waddell though. The fact Burbo is starting and Waddell is on the bench shows our lack of edge forward depth outside of Olakau'atu imo.

We thought we had a gun young second rower but it didn't work out. We're still suffering the after effects of that, hopefully will be clear after this year.

I’d have Waddell starting over Brbo anytime! Quicker, stronger & has an offload.
