Coincidence ?

The only props on the books for next year who I believe are starters are Taupau,Lussick and Sipley. The rest of them (AFB,Perrett and Paseka who are currently signed) are still bench props and need to improve fitness and conditioning to be considered capable starters( guys who can weather pace and poor starts to games and still contribute well).I believe another offseason and development for AFB could see him get there,Perrett needs a lot more conditioning to get there,Paseka has been getting a lot of minutes and game time at U20's and could be a candidate for next year.

What is your opinion of Kelepi? Do you see Kelepi as a prop or 2nd rower? My limited viewing of him in reggies makes me think he is playing prop due to lack of other candidates ... whilst willing I don't think he has the size .. would like to see him have a run in the 2nd row.

For me he is an edge backrower with the potential to be a very good one,not the ball skills like Sironen, but a hard, damaging runner like Naera from Penrith. Can play lock whick makes him versatile and a good bench player if not a starter, too light for NRL at prop(much like Amone who I hope we resign and move to backrow).Think he is only playing prop through lack of options at the moment.Needs to prove he has the footwork, agility, speed and athleticism to be a good one, strength is not everything for the edge.

Some interesting (but not significant) numbers on Perrett.

Mins played .. result.
63m .. loss Panthers
38m .. loss Dragons
37m .. loss Storm
35 m .. win Knights
31m .. win Raiders
31m .. win Tigers
15m .. win Warriors.

So you're saying with Perrett, you get more for less. By the way Paseka has been good in U20s apparently. Could be a prospect for the top grade next year

No, I think there is just an unfortunate correlation.
