I wish someone would ask him if Tenterfield and Sippers are still training, or have they also left for "family reasons".
For me personally, I think Sipley will be free to look around in Nov seeing he is contracted till the end of 2021.

In terms of front row stocks, he seems to have one of the smaller motors. Not sure the 6 again rule is suited to the impact he provides off the bench.

Saddler is Dev squad and probably falls under the same category.

Which front row should have been dropped to accomodate the above? AFB, Taupau, Keppie, Paseka?

Seems like when one of those props was out, Des was keen on replacing them with a backrow probably to suit the faster 6 again rule change....?

When we dropped out of the race for a finals berth I believe we should have given those untried players in our squad a chance to show if they were worthy of a NRL contract in 2021. Training form is one thing, but the most important thing is performance on the field.

With performance based contracts, you don't just drop senior players to trial a younger player for the sake of it. Lets say if Paseka was dropped just to give Saddler a run then he likely misses out on a match payment or maybe he doesnt play enough consecutive games to activate an option in his favor. It's a sure way to make someone unhappy.

We only dropped out of finals contention mathematically last week.

Anyway, Sipley had 4 appearances in 2018.
10 appearances in 2019.
Lots of appearances for Blacktown also.
He trains with the squad so Iโ€™m sure they have a good idea of where heโ€™s at.
Would hardly say he was untried...

Saddler is a Dev Squad player and now we are out of finals contention, maybe we will see him get a chance next week... if not, clearly Des doesnโ€™t want to drop Keppie or Paseka to bring him in. Probably means they rank above Saddler in the bench prop race and Des is giving those 2 all the game time he can in prep for next year.
