Some updates for next season

As per article The Wheel linked ....

Looks like Paseka, Haumole, and Brown are mending ok.
But Croker still being monitored ... many months after his latest knock?? Surely he should retire.
Like Crokes, Jake also plays in a position where he will get more head knocks. I'll be surprised if he plays a full season.
Schoupp "expected to return mid-season" so sounds like we're offering him some sort of deal at least

Despite his faults, DCE was still a threat for opponents and Fogarty isn't. It means Turbo will be even more heavily marked (that is, when he'sactuallyon the field). With another poor recruitment drive, and with our current coaching department, we are almost certainties for bottom 5 in 2026. I see serious improvement in most of this year's strugglers. Manly set for a massive drop, with Seibold sacked by the end of season

I think we will definitely improve (in most areas) next season with Fogarty as our half-back. I don't expect Fogarty to demonstrate the same "skill sets" as DCE. Our game management will be far more consistent and disciplined under Fogarty. There will be very little of the headless chook style of game management that DCE sometimes seemed to gravitate towards in his last few seasons with us. Fogarty's team-first attitude towards games will also be a refreshing change from this season. DCE's attitude this season was pretty far from acceptable. Essentially, Fogarty will be the consistent game manager that DCE never was.
Manly to finish in the eight in 2026 (7th/8th), with Seibold to be replaced by Willie Peters at the end of next season.

I hope so too.
Fogarty is still on an upward trajectory as a sort of late-blooming half.
He's no DCE, but on the other hand 2025 was DCE's worst season, whether from injury, distraction or simply advancing age.
The best part is that upon losing our dominant half, everything about Manly's play will have to be up for review.
Seibold's critics say he's not a motivator (or something?) but most would acknowledge he is a shrewd thinker about the game, so my hopes are quite high that we'll come out a play a style that uses the slightly different skills of the 2026 side.

I just find it somewhat amusing when people, particularly corporate types and wishful-thinking supporters, describe Seibold as a "shrewd thinker" or a great tactician, master student etc etc. Are there head coaches who would be considered as dull or not intelligent? To be an NRL head coach, quite obviously, one must have a good understanding of their craft. Seibold is no more 'shrewd' than the next, but certainly lacks many of the required qualities
