It worries me that Bullemor still hasn't been re-signed yet. Surely he won't be punted in order to keep Woods.
Given that the owner rates our roster as premiership winning, and the CEO and Coach think it's a Premiership window, do you really trust their ability to value a player?

These three operators are so CLEARLY clueless and in denial, it isn't funny.

Instead making these silly paranoid press releases the club should be focused on winning some games and ensuring we make the finals.

Time to cut through the BS: The truth behind Manly’s bizarre player agent ‘reveal’ - Hoops

The Manly Sea Eagles Sea Eagles have issued a bizarre media release in relation to player agents as the club goes into damage control about the increasing influence of controversial rugby league player agent Isaac Moses on the northern beaches.
Confused? Don’t worry so were the rest of us.
In the spin bowling department this Sea Eagles play is almost as good as the ball of the century the late, great Shane Warne bamboozled Mike Gatting with at Old Trafford back in 1993.
While the Manly PR machine went to great lengths to point out how Moses only has five players out of 39 currently contracted players at the Sea Eagles – as is often the case the devil lies in the detail.

The facts are Sea Eagles coach Anthony Seibold is managed by Isaac Moses. Moses also negotiated the deals for Seibold’s assistant coaches Shane Flanagan and Jim Dymock to land on the northern beaches.

Moses also did the deal for Manly’s new head of recruitment Peter Gentle – one of rugby league’s genuine good guys.

These are the real numbers the rest of the rugby league world is all over – not the Sea Eagles leg spin designed to middle stump everyone.
When Seibold initially signed at the Manly in November last year, the Sea Eagles only had one Moses client on their books in Ethan Bullemor.

Yet in the nine months since out of the eight players the Sea Eagles have signed – six have been Moses clients.

Aaron Woods, Matt Lodge, Ben Condon, Cooper Johns, Luke Brooks and Tommy Talau have all joined or are set to join Manly since Seibold’s arrival.

Seibold has apparently cracked it after the history of Moses’s involvement at a host of NRL clubs was unpacked on Triple M’s Sunday Sin Bin over the weekend.

The Brisbane Broncos, New Zealand Warriors, Wests Tigers and Parramatta were used as examples of clubs where Moses has previously been able to gain huge influence over the roster.

The Broncos got the club’s first-ever wooden spoon under the tutelage of Seibold in 2020 with a host of Moses clients on the Red Hill club’s roster.

So while Manly attempt to smother Moses ever-increasing influence at the Sea Eagles, the truth is the numbers don’t lie.

The Sea Eagles have listed Moses’s Cove agency as ranking fifth on the table of player agents the club is currently working with.

Mario Tartak’s Crown Sports International ranks first along with Daniel O’Louglin’s Wasserman, both with seven players at the Sea Eagles.

Next up is Pacific Sports Management (Chris and Gavin Orr) with six.

Then there’s SFX Sports Group (Paul Sutton, Pete Menicou and George Mimis) and Moses’s Cove Agency with five.

Again, the devil lies in the detail.
By the time Luke Brooks and Tommy Talau arrive at the end of the season Moses will jump to the gold medal position with seven players.

Tartak is also in the process of moving the Fainu brothers Latu and Samuela – meaning Crown Sports International will drop to third position with five players.

Once you start to unpack all the ins and outs there’s a very clear pattern that’s emerged on the northern beaches since Seibold was signed as Manly coach.

Oh – and another thing – every NRL club has a top 30 list of players, not 39.

Manly have conveniently included six development players and three train and trial players to the Sea Eagles list for reasons unknown.

Why the Sea Eagles felt it necessary to put out a media release about this is anyone’s guess.

Talk about jumping at shadows. Here’s a thought. Maybe focus on winning some games and trying to make a late run at playing finals.

This was the Manly Sea Eagles media release:

“Manly Warringah Sea Eagles has tabled the list of player management agencies the Club is working with in 2023.
“It shows the Sea Eagles have 10 player management agencies representing 39 contracted players, a list that includes all NRL, Development, and Train and Trial players.

“To avoid any misconception, the breakdown is as follows.”

Crown Sports International - Mario Tartak - 7

Wasserman - Daniel O’Loughlin - 7

Pacific Sports Management - Chris Orr, Gavin Orr, Simon Healey - 6

SFX Sports Group - Paul Sutton, Peter Menicou, George Mimis - 5

Cove Agency - Isaac Moses - 5

Sports Player Management - Tyran Smith -3

Titan Sports Management - David Riolo - 3

Ignite Sports - Joe Wehbe - 1

Apex Sports Agency - David Rawlings - 1

Gillis Schifcofske Sports Management - Steve Gillis - 1

Let’s cut through the BS. By November of this year Moses will have more clients than any other agent at Manly with seven in the club’s top 30.

Plus the coach, plus one of the assistant coaches, plus the head of recruitment, plus probably another assistant coach.

They can spin it all they like but Manly can’t manipulate those numbers.

Mestrov just backing his coach. This is all Seibold.

I've said it all along, Seibold just reeks of insecurity. The self-serving incompetent will make Barrett and Sharpie look like club legends by the time he's finished sh*tting all over us

Mestrov is the leader of this club and he should back his common sense and do what is the smart thing to do and avoid our club being part of the big media circus .

WTAF is that......

Thought that was a prank/parody post until I saw it on the Sea Eagles club site. And on cue, Foxsports aren't going to miss a free hit like that

What a strange, ill-considered and obviously defensive post by the Club.

Sad but true
As a very proud loyal club member of our Legendary club
This is another sad and embarrassing season on and off the field

They say that the greatest Investment of any Great organisation is the Great People it Invests in
Mr Penn has invested in Mestrov and Seibold .

Poor James having a fit over the media release.

I wonder if young James would care to announce to the broader community, prior to his falling out with one particular agent, who helped him secure an improved contract with Newscorp / Foxsports by way of providing him with many an "inside scoop" to stories at one particular Sydney club and a QLD based club, which he then used as leverage to secure improved employments conditions 🤔

Further to that, I wonder if he has the mental dexterity to comprehend that the movements of the player manager in his article that "will have the most players at Manly plus ancillary staff et cetera" are a "plus and minus" of the movement of players managed by others.

I'm not one to applaud or defend any one person, executive, agent or player however young James has an innate ability to "fan the flames" in his articles when it concerns a club but does not, even in the slightest sense, manage to provide a total analysis of agents across all the NRL clubs.

I'll leave you with one tasty morsel of information; if you think that the influence of player managers will be curbed by any one club, association or even the NRL, you are all sadly mistaken.

The new age player agent is now engrossed in the "whole of life" approach to players, influencing young players to approach the game as a "mercenary", a "gun for hire" if you will, make what you can add quick as you can and move where you can to do it.

The clubs, barring two or three are so far behind the "8-ball" when it comes to understanding the demographic and socio-economic needs of the young players of today, they are playing catchup to appease not only the player but the player manager.

From where I sit, the NRL and the NRLPA are being shown to be impotent and archaic in understanding where the player agent's power is generated from; it's not just the player but the people behind the player that are just as influential as the player manager, especially with players under the age of 22-25, some of these players are still under the care and tutelage of parents and guardians and they are very influential in the decision making process.

Hence why the best recruitment managers liaise and make the families feel "all warm and fuzzy" and make them (the family) do the club's "bidding" when instructing the player manager.

Ohh and lastly, I'm still laughing at whoever declared Scott Fulton "the best in the business" I needed a laugh, so thank you very much.

It is nearly as funny as people who still believe that Phil Gould is some form of wonder-being with respect to football administration; a complete also-ran of an administrator who's not achieved a single thing of note in the last 20 years.

So the article in the SMH tonight mentions the Fainus could be making a decision by the end of the week. It also mentions that Manly want to keep them but due to our recent purchases, have a cap problem. Does anyone know if we have even offered them anything

Total BS from Manly.

Both brothers have contracts thru the end of 2024.
If they wanted to keep them, they didn't have to sign other players.

Instead of the club generating exciting football news as this is what clubs are all about fore most .

The club has generated a media frenzy and they only have them selves to blame

With the Media as we as we all know. Where there is smoke there is fire and one wonders what Mestrov and Seibold are smoking

They're certainly sending out smoke signals at the moment but I think we need to engage some Native Americans to decipher whatever the heck it is they're trying to say.

If we already had contracts signed with the brothers for next year that are included in our cap, surely the nrl couldn't ratify the contracts for the new players if there was no space left in our cap to do so?

Wouldn't we have had to release the brothers first?

Strange times for our club. And not much fun being a fan at present...

Yes indeed and no it's not much fun.

There’s at least 7 players,that I counted,who are in the top 30 this year,who are not signed for next season,so it’s not a problem

Yep, 'poor young James' does lack mental dexterity but far more serious he lacks principle and ethics. Wonder if Dan can come up with an algorithm so any post mentioning poor young James can be automatically moved to the dickhead thread, which is where he belongs!
