Yes it is sadly.
Should be part of rep weekend the same as those games last night.
It's means as much to country players to represent where they are from as anyone who took the field last night but the NRL's mentality goes no further than a map of Sydney.

City won 7-0. Ian Roberts captained the City team. He was the only Manly player for either team.

Another fun fact, Manly provided the last two non-NSW players to play City vs Country when Paul Vautin and Chris Close were selected for City in 1984.

Edit: 1984 was also the last City vs Country game played at the SCG.

Mate you should see my home town, bush rugby league is on its knees and about to die. Every kid in town plays soccer but hardly anyone plays footy here. The stadium hasn't been repaired in a long time and looks old and abandoned. The NRL pretends we don't exist.

Todd Greenberg did visit some country towns but I doubt it will change anything...

The problem for the NRL with the NSW country is that it just doesn't generate as many Queenslanders as they'd like...
