Pre-Game Chooks V Manly [Finals Week 2, 2024]

Not overly superstitious but noticed two Sea Eagles flying around in my general property area last week and somehow had the sense that even when it looked a bit grim for Manly against the Doggies, somehow they would still get there .
Last time a similar experience , in 2017 when the Manly 20 's went all the way through the play offs to win their comp .
Odds of that being repeated with the i st grade side on the unlikely side but guess that stranger things can happen

🤣 most stacked roster in the comp. Probably only 2 in the 17 that wouldn't be considered for any rep team. The rest could at very least make a claim.

If as they say he always has injuries at this time of year, well the last 3 any way, then maybe he should manage his players better so they don't break down, or be suspended.. 🤣

It'll be interesting to see what sort of tactical approach we adopt out of yardage. It was clear to see we played with a more middle of ruck focus against the Dogs, which is in stark contrast with our tendency to shift to the edges against most other opposition.

The Roosters pack is stronger than the Dogs but they also have pretty handy outside backs. Intriguing to see how we go about mitigating the field position battle.

Either up the middle or going out wide I think we're in big trouble. Reckon they'll smother us much like the dogs did but the rorters won't faulter in the last 15 like the dogs did. With a flightless Turbo afraid it's the cheats by 12.

I’m thinking we need to increase our offloads in the ruck. We had bugger all last week, but maybe that was not in the plan for the Dogs. I think you mentioned previously Ola or someone has to do a job on Crighton. Fully agree. We won’t be able to stop all his offloads, but at least get in his face. It doesn’t take much for the red mist to descend for him. Then hopefully he’ll start making mistakes.

I thought Cheese had a good game against us last time, set the intensity with his defensive efforts and had a few runs.

Watson is a different player and the amount of defence he did against the Panthers hurt his running game and energy levels.
