I'm not usually one for these threads but...

Charlie Staines looks special and just what we need and the Panthers are letting him test the market.

Would love him

PANTHERS GIVE FLYER PERMISSION TO TEST OPEN MARKET

The Panthers have a fight on their hands to keep speedster Charlie Staines.

The Sydney Morning Herald reports that despite offering him a deal until the end of 2023, they have still granted his management permission to test the youngster on the market.

Reports suggest that the Bulldogs and Tigers are among several clubs that are sniffing around.

Staines could play an important role in Penrith’s future with Josh Mansour a chance of finishing up at the club after this current deal runs out at the end of 2021.

His speed and finishing abilities would make him the perfect option on the wing but Staines has grown up playing at fullback.

Would be My TOP target mate - for many reasons....and will only get better and be regarded...imo....1 of the most dynamic players in the NRL in 2-3 years time...

prefers F/B
If he stays at Penrith, I think he will take take the fullback position from Edwards (a good, but not great player). Aikens, their current backup fullback is somewhat ordinary.

Seems like he wants the fullback spot, so with Turbo on our books, probably wouldn’t be interested. I do agree would be a great signing as his blinding speed and ability to sniff out a try are second to none. Hopoate may do the same but for which team??

if he wants the fullback spot we have a vacancy for at least 2/3 of every season. Bring on the Poo stains.

Cleary not happy that Staines (his agent, actually) is testing the open market. In this interview, he hints that Staines' future at the club will at fullback.

Can most of these backs wanting to play FB actually play fullback or do they just want FB money?
