MANLY captain Michael Monaghan will be looking to celebrate a new three-year deal with the Sea Eagles by claiming a win over his former club the Canberra Raiders at Brookvale Oval today.
Monaghan, who left the Raiders at the end of 2003, will sign a three-year contract with the Sea Eagles in the next few weeks.
The news is expected to provide the Sea Eagles with a massive boost before today's top-of-the-table match with the Raiders.
Monaghan has been one of the Sea Eagles' best this year and he represents a huge danger to the Raiders maintaining their unbeaten start to the season.
"You don't have to tell me what a tremendous player Michael is for the Sea Eagles," Canberra Raiders coach Matthew Elliott said.
"He's a major reason why they have started the season so well and are such a dangerous outfit.
"Michael is sure to be a key player for them today and, given the events that followed last week's game with the Roosters involving his brother Joel, he'll no doubt be fired up to play well."
Well Done Monas! Carve this Raiders up today! :boho:
