Well with the purchase of DCE for $10million the highest in NRL you have to wonder is it us and was he worth it now that all these other players have been pushed out and there surely couldn't be more room to,purchase other players...

It still has an impact as it was money allocated in 2015 that is now freed up for 2016, and so can be spent on incoming players.

What about if you've already spent it upgrading someone else like DCE or the Turbos, or extending someone like Snake or Skivvi ?? You are still down a player and no extra money in kitty.

yea that's true, but HM couldn't grasp the fact that you free up money by someone leaving, either for signing new players or upgrading current ones

Manly CEO Joe Kelly said the club’s roster will continue to change as they attempt to field the most competitive team possible.

Having moved on veteran rake Matt Ballin and brought in the likes of Marty Taupau, Tim Moltzen and Nate Myles, the Sea Eagles are a vastly new-look side.

While plenty of change has already taken place at the club including a new coach and support staff, Kelly said he can’t guarantee they are finished with their recruitment drive for 2016.

“Recruitment’s a process that’s always ongoing so you never say never when it comes to that,” Kelly told foxsports.com.au.

“That’ll be continuing to evolve under the coaching staff and with the guidance of Bob Fulton as well.

We are arguing the same point. Once the October 2014 Ownership changed, the players on the outer were already known.
So Manly knew then that they would have those monies free in 2016, it's not a recent release of funds for the contracts that ended in 2015.

The only unknown was that dimwit Foran. He made sure that Manly were kept in limbo with his potential cost till June 30 😡

Bozo's hit list on redundant players who still have a valid contract in 2016/2017, is the only potential new pool of freed up Cap. He mistakenly thought that Matty,Mateo,Burgess, Hodges would all go quietly and quickly

Like I clarified, that money was free and known back in October 2014 as the contracts were in there final year.
