Hi Everyone, we are having a debate here at work in regards to if you can sign a retired play for the finals, ie Luke Burt. Is there a rule to stop this.

You can't because he is a 2012 contracted player to another club and it is past the June 30 deadline.

You could create the contract, but the NRL wouldnt register it. All contracts must be endorsed by registration via the NRL (ARLC)

No, however I'm sure the ARLC would make an exception if the Bulldogs wanted to do something like this.

Contracts finish around oct 30/31. So here you can't.
ESL you can.
