At some time in all our lives we we all considered young. Better than old and tired I suppose. We would be a hive-mind if we were all 'one' - I've not seen evidence of that.

As a non indigenous person I always find it hard to comment on these issues as I have no idea of why Widders would not feel represented.

I think rather than jumping to a conclusion / action like creating another team if there is a feeling that indigenous people are not represented in the international arena it is worth trying to understand why that is the case. It may mean another international team, it may not but it is something worth talking about it if that is the case

I think I read there are about 4% of Australians that "identify" as Indigenous. Looking at our sporting sides I will say they are punching well above their weight in representation!

I think the thing is representation is not only about who is selected. It could also be about pathways and how indigenous players are treated / the conditions they have (again based on nothing from my side)
Much like the voice it is often a complex situation that does not get the time it deserves

Without being too harsh Widders probably should have done some research before making his argument. He used Latrell as an example for not having a platform because he didn’t play the international games last year. News flash, latrell was injured & also had off field issues. Same goes with another example he used in Josh Ado-Carr. Latrell Mitchell is 1 of the best players in the comp & a certainty for rep duties at his best. I enjoy watching him play for Australia & can’t wait to see him in the jersey again at the end of the NRL season.
