Would like Des to play Sironen at lock in 2021 (moving Jake to prop).

Siro looks too slow on the edges and his addiction to stepping back into the ruck is stifling our outside backs.

He started NRL as a 5/8th so should be able to distribute the ball to edges (as Jakes does now).

Plus, he's another big body in the middle who Des should tell to run straight and hard.

Id prefer him as prop i reckon. Needs an interchange. Adds some mobility and the ballskills he has seem better suited on the inside to a speed man up the guts

But no more second row

I agree. For the same reasons i want Jake as a prop again. He just stifles the attack. Its always 3rd tackle Siro. 4th tackle Jake. 5th tackle a **** bomb from DCE.

Have observed Siro slowing down line speed in defence, dont think he is an eighty minute player under the new rules. We need a more moblie backrow. Having said that he still has plenty to offer so moving hime to the middle could work with right rotation.

IMO Sirro can ballplay but the game plan is Chez turning him back inside....and Suli doesn't seem the type to command the ball so unless he does..

For a former 5/8 he has no passing game which is one of the most unbelievable things, like... ever.

Lock might be better for him to be able to have some space to pass the ball as he often gets the ball at second-row with such little space that he runs inside toward the middle (and has made a habit of it). Best thing would be for us to sign Sitili Tupouinua or Angus Chricton, promote Olakautau to 11 and move Siro to lock or the bench. He's still a good influence on the team but I agree with your points. Our pack just needs to freshen up a bit by some shuffling and new signings.

Interesting to see the Telegraph reporting that the Tigers are looking to bring Curtis ‘home’.

Wests Tigers are also considering making a play for a Curtis Sironen homecoming as part of a potential swap deal between Manly and Sironen’s former club.

The move could mean Sironen returns to the Tigers which would allow disgruntled prop Josh Aloiai to switch to the Sea Eagles immediately. The Tigers are steadfast in their belief they will not release Aloiai unless they find a suitable replacement and expect him back at training on November 30.

Tigers back-rower Luke Garner could also be part of any trade deal although Tigers officials are adamant he will fulfil the final two years of his deal.

Sironen is off-contract at the end of next year and it is understood the Sea Eagles would consider an opportunity for the 27-year-old to return to the Tigers on a long-term deal.

The Sironen name is synonymous with the Tigers after Curtis’s dad Paul was a star at the club in the 1980s and 1990s.

Curtis made his debut for the Tigers in 2012 and played 65 games before joining Manly in 2017 where he has established himself as an edge back-rower while Garner played under-20s at the Sea Eagles before making his debut at the Tigers. Aloiai has had a highly publicised fallout with his current club and the situation is now untenable. The Tigers are privately shocked how quickly the relationship has soured given how popular Aloiai has been with his contributions on and off the field. He was thought of as a potential captaincy option with suggestions Moses Mbye will stand down from the role.

I'd take Aloiai and Garner for Siro. Yes please! Siro went backwards big time last year so its a yes from me!

I thought Siro was in great form early in the season. Noticeably hampered by a knee injury during the back half.

Garners the one I really want.

Curtis has been starving our backline way too much. I've seen him in every potential starting side for 2021, but I'll go against the grain and say I'd rather jetski gets a start. The guy is a different player when he starts in the second row (especially right side) and seems to gel well with dce. When jetski starts, dce all of a sudden develops a short attacking grubber into the in goal. If he gets on top of his injuries and locks down the second row position he could be a weapon. Offload siro and crab walker for aloiai, pass on garner and throw some cash at a game changer... katoni staggs or Harry Grant

To think that late last year Siro was chosen in the Emerging Blues Squad and that's as far as he got. Says it all really. Had high hopes for this year, injuries didn't help, but still it all came to nothing. Quite disappointing...

Letting an edge backrower go from our squad would leave us without any depth in this position.

I think letting Sironen go is fine, I liked from what I seen of Sau in origin running on the right edge off DCE, that combination looked really sharp and they haven’t played much together, says enough about Sirro for me.

I agree he went backwards this season like many in our squad.

We do need more edge backrowers in the squad before this happens though.
