Seriously, he was burned by a very class player who has played 23 Origin games and 6 games for Australia, while playing out of position. He has only been picked to play centre 5 times in his 59 matches. career.

He was playing both inside and outside weak defenders and to Newcastles credit they hammered that side.

Dont get me wrong I am no fanboy but he does a decent job and for the money he'd be on is an ideal bench player in a strong team.

Yep. He’s an adequate bench forward.Couid become a consistent first grade bench pig but carrying a second rower and hooker on the bench is not really a great option.Got a role to play maybe but we need a classy left side edge and top flight prop. Get those and luck with injury then top 4 isn’t out of a question.

I’ve been a critic for Burbo’s for a while but he did have a strong few weeks before last night so I’m not going to hold it against him. Everyone but Seibold knows it’s been a disaster every time he’s moved to the centres and that’s what happened last night, absolutely fried by 34 year old Dane Gagai. Ironically we were the ones taking advantage of a centre mismatch in the first half with Garrick on Schiller.

Bigger issue is the only other second rower in the squad being Waddell. You lose one back early and now this bloke is playing nearly a full game on the edge. Have him defending next to Burbo and even the worst teams in the comp can exploit that, as we saw the Knights do last night. Give Chee Kam a run or sign someone else.

I suspect that given Saab and Turbo were missing then he didn't trust any of the outside backs in reggies to step up.

This isn't pointed at you, but many on here crucified Seibold for having Clayton on the bench and him not being used a month or so ago.

But yes Burbo to centre is not an option

Cheers and I agree, but it goes way deeper than that, we were up 16 nil at half time, no excusses, that was with our missing players, Lehi and all things being equal, the knights were in a far worse off place than us, if we had a coach with any idea and ability to steer us home from that position, we wouldn’t be having these discussions, we’d all be happy with a win and 2 points.

I could write a list of Seibs misses on last night, but most of them have been pointed out already and to be honest, l’m not sure it’s worth it, he has been exposed over and over now and has lost me from this point forward, until or if he proves otherwise, which I won’t be holding my breath on.

There's a better player hiding in there. Not entirely happy with his effort areas this year. But how to release the Trevor?

With Turbo at centre ATM I wonder if moving the two brothers next to each other could be an option.

I think Burbo has been one of our best this season, except when defending out of position in the centres. But I agree he is very much a first grader now and he hasn't hit his ceiling yet.

Incidentally - one thing I am noticing more and more, from things like the above photo but also his behavior on social media, is that Saab can be a bit of a knob.

I'd don't think I'll change my mind that his first part of his career he was poor.

I'll judge tomorrow on tomorrow.

Burbo continues to make steady to slow progress. Improving bit by bit.

Needs to tidy up the errors and penalties and his days as centre cover should be behind him (personally Im for a back on the bench).

As it stands he is clearly our second edge and he is vilified far more than he deserves.

All that said, edge backrow is an area we can improve our depth and quality. In an ideal world Burbo is in the squad as our 3rd edge option, not second with a decent 4th option too.

Having 2 decent edge options is wild.
