I guess every game is an important one and you’d love to go into the finals on a roll but I think we’ve blown our chances for a 5th /6th spot as Cowboys aren’t going to be losing two games now that the Storm is sending their under 20’s side to Townsville.

Such a pity that last game , they’ll rue that loss above all during the year.

Just one more win and we’d have a home final.

Oh well **** happens I guess.

I think that team, with out Lawton as a relief and back up for Croker,let alone in the BR instead of Burbo ,let alone Simpkin as a genuine 9 is hobbled some what

To me it's crazy

Why if we are not going to play him with already gordan and croker did we get simpkin?

And I keep saying all this year we looked so more direct and sharp in attack when simpkin was at 9.

Would of loved to of seen him with our full squad.

If Lawton doesn't make the squad tomorrow night only having croker as a 9 to me spells trouble.

2016: 13th
2018: 15th
2020: 13th
2022: 11th, including losing the last 7 and the club becoming a basket case
2023: 12th.

Funny you can barely tell I removed just three years from there! Remind me why we are a top 4 side?

We have beaten every Top 8 side we have played this year, so far. Even in the "holy year" or whatever 2021 is remembered as (jeez have our standards fallen), we only beat Top 8 sides five times, with four of those against the Titans and Eels. The Titans and Eels.

That year was an absurdity in the rule book and the history of the game, and if that's your benchmark compared to what we have genuinely achieved this year... You're dreaming.

The real test is us making the finals next year. Presumably if we build from here, genuinely being a Top 4 team and a contender is a possibility. What the side has achieved this year is immense.

It will be interesting to see if his contract gets extended, the last news of that meeting didn’t end well. If Manly don’t get a premiership in the next 2-3 years max when DCE,Turbo etc are still going good what chance is it moving forward when those players go that they have centred around? Could be a Tigers/Bulldogs cycle potentially, I know a few members I know agree would be keen to hear others thoughts

Lawton will play surely. He has been in career best form lately and can play in a few different positions. The ultimate utility with 100 games experience.

As the coach says - they got what they deserved. Manly have butchered so many games they barely deserve to be in the 8

Agree, never seen a team who have so many lessons to learn. Such a weak excuse for not competing.

I have changed my mind and decided to watch our final two games on Kayo. I am extremely curious to see how we go against two high quality sides. And I am also keen to see just how well our attack goes against the best defensive team in the comp the Bulldogs. If we beat them then I would have high expectations of us winning at home vs the Sharks. We need our big 3 to fire simultaneously this week - DCE, Tom and Brooks.

I agree he should definitely be in the side, however he should be replacing burbo in the 2nd row, not playing hooker anymore!

He was injured, so could be giving him to the last minute to play if fit

Just as long as he's in the side, Lawton's got more footy smarts than Burbo. We're not playing a 2nd hooker so we need Lawton, Croker can't play 80m anymore.
